In July the Bearettes Young Womens' Chorus will travel to Cincinnati to sing in the World Choir Games. We are making a documentary film
In July 2012 the Bearettes Young Women's Chorus will travel to participate in the World Choir Games. Comprised of 50 young women ages 12 - 14, the 100% volunteer ensemble receives no monetary support from their school system. Frequent performances at the local Food Bank, area hospitals, assisted care facilities, and firehouses have helped to cement the girls' reputation for community service and for music performed at a very high level.
The World Choir Games have never been in the United States before; more than 350 choirs from all over the globe will be in attendance! This affords the young women a unique opportunity to meet young artists from remarkably different cultures, to share and to grow in ways unavailable in normal circumstances.
realMusic AV of Richmond, Virginia will embed two professional cinematographers to capture every moment of this sure-to-be stunning adventure, and to do some background history of the ensemble as well. They will be at rehearsals, on the road with the ensemble, at our partner performances with choirs from other countries. They will capture every moment they can and artfully splice together a vivid, enduring memory for all involved.
Thank you so much for considering funding this project. Any monies over the cost of the documentary amount ($5500) will be used to help defray the cost of the trip for financially challenged vocalists; our need is great in this area, so thank you for your support!
