A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. Who We Are:             

At Monkeytech International LLC, our minority-owned cleantech R&D startup is poised to provide next-gen, renewable-based utility services. Our patent-pending, innovative self-contained air-to-electricity mobile microgrid utilizes surrounding resources to promote 24/7-accessible high energy density onsite when you need it. We invented a patent-pending, self-recharging, combined renewable energy and CHP mobile microgrid system. It produces, transfers and stores zero-emission, high density energy onsite, day or night, whenever you need it. It is scalable and designed to work separately from the overstretched power grid through combining two energy resources – renewable and compressed heat - to produce electrical generation and storage for the owner onsite by pulling and storing surrounding zero-emission resources that are abundant in the atmosphere to produce electricity while storing resources. Storable compressed heat as a support mechanism to intermittent renewable is cheaper and accessible 24/7 than rows of intermittent wind farms or solar panel farms so why not utilize the most reliable resource - isothermal-based air - instead of the costliest - natural gas, oil, methane or other combustibles?        

         With air, there is no more worrying about high costs or unreliable or intermittent power, blackouts, attacks on fuel supply runs, harmful emissions, high utility costs, or having to pay for supply costs.  Existing utilities relying on limited combustibles charge not only a generation charge but also a separate supply charge, accumulating to $.12-.15 per kwh; whereas we only charge a generation charge of $.05 per kwh that we use for ongoing corporate operations and future R&D since, using air, we don't need to charge a supply charge. “The power of air can energize your entire world.”

How It Works:

 A combined heat and power system, our air to electricity mobile microgrid generates and stores excess energy derived from 2 electrical energy sources, which are namely renewables and stored heat, to produce and store energy as compressed heat that is then redirected to generate energy  and store it to extend systemic operations while promoting access to high volumes of energy from multiple energy sources.

Compared to existing combustible CHP systems, our $.05 kwh cogeneration system:

1.  converts and stores onsite surrounding renewable resources,

2. converts and stores 24/7-accessible surrounding energies onsite, rather than paying supply costs to ship them in,  

3. stores 24/7-accessible compressed ambient gas, or air as storable heat, for anytime use,

4. generates and stores excess cogenerative energies, where a secondary electrical production avenue is accessible for excess electricity around 65% efficiency or more,

5. operates on an abundant resource that is 0-emissioned and combustible-free,

6. utilizes batteries to prevent intermittent periods and, 

7. utilizes a series of high frequency reciprocating generators to produce excess high energy   density onsite rather than conventional combustible turbines that are heavy, require massive amounts of energy per rotation, and rely on excess limited combustible resources to operate.

This campaign is about resolving global energy issues. We can adopt cleaner, cheaper, and more efficient energy systems and resources than what we use now.  how we can use power responsibly and taking back control. We want to raise awareness. Our society runs off costly combustion and energy is getting more and more expensive. But we don’t have to sit idly by and accept the situation. There are smarter, more affordable options to reliable anytime onsite energy.

With your support, we can  scale current business operations, execute final models for manufacturing that are based on existing working prototype, and establish a non-profit arm where we can work with philanthropists and development banks to donate one unit to an impoverished country for each unit sold. Working to level the global energy field would open up these regions to access reliable power so they can access American-made products and services firsthand.    

The Impact: 

We live in a combustible world, where our society runs off combustion, from our cars to generating electricity. Unfortunately, combustion runs on costly, toxic, limited resources like fossil fuels and natural gas. These limited resources won't last forever and will worsen climate change.

 In the East, National Grid (Eversource) charges between $250-$300 per month using fluctuating rates ($.07 from July to December and $.11 from January to June, with fixed being $.097. Within a 40-year period, the consumer pays $53,000 or more due to increased supply costs for feed lines that are passed down to the consumer to pay. In the West, the average delivered minimum bill for PG&E is $.32, with the average total rate being $.22 per kwh. 

Our CHP microgrid is mobile, runs on environmentally safe, cheap air and renewables only and automatically collects and stores air as energy onsite anytime 24/7 to power your projects and buildings. Residential and electric vehicle consumers can pick and choose a packaged monthly plan at the affordable fixed rate of $.05 per kwh ($153) all year round for unlimited access to self-rechargeable high density electricity day or night. Leasing and maintenance fees will apply.

Target Markets: 

The energy scenario is changing throughout the world and governments, globally, are making an attempt to make cost-effective use of existing resources along with, enabling the emergence of a low carbon economy, particularly in the Asian-Pacific. The global micro CHP market is projected to reach USD 4.44 Billion by 2020, and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 14.2% from 2015 to 2020.

The United States holds more than 240 gigawatts of technical potential for combined heat and power (CHP) and waste heat to power, according to the Department of Energy.  The potential power comes from more than 291,000 sites in industrial facilities, commercial buildings, district energy systems.

The U.S. Department of Defense is the largest single consumer of energy in the world, gobbling up 3.8 billion kilowatt hours of electricity and 120 million barrels of oil per year. It’s an expensive habit, costing the agency some $20 billion a year. In 2010, the investment bank HSBC published a white paper that speculated that even under the rosiest scenarios, the world only has 50-year supply of oil left, which is why oil companies are drilling offshore and in the Arctic - the easily accessible oil is already used up. In summation, these systems are not a solution to energy independence but a temporary cure.

In developing countries across the globe, global citizens do not have access to affordable, reliable onsite distribution and are still paying high monthly costs for electricity from micro CHP and other systems because expensive supply costs from limited feed lines using methane, natural gas, water for steam and other limited sources are passed down to the consumer. Although free, solar and wind are also limited resources regulated by regional discrepancies, consistent changes in weather conditions or time of day. Air is the only cost-efficient resource that is constantly available or accessible 24/7.

In these developing countries, unfortunately, only 75% of citizens have access to power. Even for the wealthy, the limited supply makes it availability unreliable and frequent power outages are a reality for residents. Of the 1.2 billion world citizens who live in the dark, around 550 million live in Africa. Only 42% of its citizens have access to electricity according to the African Development Bank. Children are forced to read and learn in the dark.

Marketing and Sales Strategy:

Our go-to-market strategy is to formulate an “A” Team of strategic experts, including a strategic partnership with a long-term investor, and commercialization lab partner, as well as DoE, using private funds ($1M or more) to transition our current prototype into the commercialization phase and build up and protect our existing 2015 US and PCT-patent-pending applications by registering the patent applications within the 185 WIPO patent offices. Varnell Castor, Principal Investigator and inventor of the solar microgrid, has the skillset and background in fabricating parts, developing energy systems, and commercializing to scale up using a tech business. He will be the acting CEO until we are in a better position to hire an experienced CEO with Military credentials, where Mr. Castor will become the President and Head Chairman to oversee corporate maturity.

We will form an R&D team for current and future products that will provide analytical models and simulations for testing, machine shopping and other full suite of engineering and product development services spanning mechanical, electrical, software and systems engineering.

Our marketing strategy is connecting with consumers assembling and using marketing team that will be in charge of sending representatives to showcases and making social media ads. Our goal is to explain in detail the benefits of choosing us for utility services due to Monkeytech’s energy station being portable, cheaper, cleaner, faster, and more powerful, compared to their existing competitors.

Our sales strategy is to assembly a sales team to provide satellite-based utility services using smart meters to consumers. We will assemble a manufacturing team and engineers to construct a 1KW, 2KWH remote power station model for green buildings for low income housing development partners like the Department of Housing and Development and have them lease the portable power station, charging a small monthly fee. From there, we can charge electrical usage by the meter at a reduced price that beats the competitor’s monthly charges. Because our accessible resources are both air and solar, we do not have to deal with extraneous supply costs, feed line costs, or landscape reconstruction costs, unlike existing utility companies that rely on natural gas and/or fossil fuels and pass the rising costs down to the consumers.

FUTURE RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT:

With your support, future research and development is possible and, as a key to success, will further enable us to access multiple markets to maximize profit and keep investors happy. Investing in multiple scalable applications with the solar microgrid is the key.

Besides 1 kW 2 kWh utility service model generating $46 billion in 10 years, the handheld power market is also where we can research and develop a 72W 140Wh model that could generate an extra $2 billion annually in sales ($20 billion in 10 years), since consumers want to rely on a more technologically reliable means to charge their expensive equipment like phones, tablets, and computers onsite and while on the go, whether day or night, instead of having to find a wall outlet. Our product offers high density onsite charging.

Another market application is electric vehicle-to-grid, where research into development of a 2kW 4 kWh model to incorporate into an EV-2-Grid vehicle like the Nissan Leaf, which has an internal 24 kWh battery. Although they can be interconnected, our 4 kWh battery can serve for systemic operations of the solar microgrid, while the 24kWh battery serves to power the EV, homes and other applications, since our 2 kW model can generate 2,000W per hour while on the go to recharge their 24 kWh battery.  The serving of an onboard microgrid in EV-2-Grid market could generate $4 billion in annual revenue, accumulating an extra $40 billion in 10 years.

Finally, regional power models (200MW+) can be researched. Power purchasing agreements with existing utilities will transpire as additional revenue stream as we position ourselves to becoming the prominent global utility service provider.

Testing and validation can be done at an engineering department at a university. We have 14 mind that we have already reached out to and gotten green lights from. Each has a Licensing and Commercial Development Department, also known as Technology Transfer Office, that will assist us in this phase.

Over the course of 6 years, we have incorporated and secured $30K on patent-pending applications and extensive R&D on our microgrid project.

For seed capital, we are currently organizing for a crowdfunding campaign to further assist in the commercialization process of our high-growth-potential energy product.

We secured provisional patent-pending applications between 2011 and 2014 and submitted and secured a non-provisional utility patent application in 2016 but we need to secure a PCT or Paris Agreement to enter global markets.

In the technology demonstration phase, which occurred in August 2013, the prototypical system was tested and validated in a relevant engineering environment in Hartford, Connecticut. Upon validation/revision of the pilot-scale prototype, the commercial value of the discovery was confirmed.

In December 2016, our desktop-scaled 340W 576Wh microgrid project was refined and is operational. We are in the process of doubling the cycle of the generators by manipulating the stored pressure. The design and usage of stored heat allows for higher energy production and storage onsite ranging from 100W-12KW and more of electricity through its use of multiple energy sources, primarily stored heat sources like compressors, which can pack a punch! In the end, we can produce more cycles of power just by storing larger pressures. The larger the pressure, the faster the cycles.

Now, we seek to refine the prototype into a finished build to manufacture and sell in multiple scales, from desktop (340W 576Wh) to small scale (1kw, 2kwh) to residential scale (5kw, 10kwh). With your help, we can change The World!
