We can't wait to make our first full-length album! Since forming as a band a year and half ago, we are ready to capture our sound. In order to make that happen, we need YOUR support!
We're excited to be recording our album at Swingfingers Studios in Fort Collins with acclaimed engineer Aaron (AA or Double-A) Youngberg. His client list reads as a who's-who in the new acoustic world. Some of the artists who have worked there include:
- Cahalen Morrison & Eli West
- The Railsplitters
- Rapidgrass Quintet
- Ross Martin & Grant Gordy
We want to involve you in the process and offer some great incentives for believing in us and our music. We can't do this without you, our fans and our community!!!
About the songs
Masontown has been working on the material for our full-length album for the past year. We've been performing some of the material live at recent shows ... BUT we also have some brand new songs that we've just finished writing and arranging for the album.
How do YOU help?
We are asking for YOUR help with bringing this project to life. Kickstarter is all or nothing, so if we don't make it to our goal, we get ZERO! Think of this as paying it forward: we get to produce some incredible music for you, and you get cool rewards (t-shirts, CDs, etc) for believing in us. It's a win-win for everyone!
Masontown was formed in 2015 and is based out of Denver, Colorado. The members include:
- Eric Wiggs (guitar / vocals)
- Natalie Padilla (fiddle / vocals)
- Mike Canney (mandolin / vocals)
- Bradley Morse (bass / vocals)
Since forming, Masontown has played over 100+ shows throughout the Front Range and competed in the Rockygrass Band Competition (2nd place in 2016). With the completion of our first full-length album, we're excited to get our music to a wider audience!
We don't want to ruin the surprise of our new album material, so until it's finished, we'll leave you with a few videos of material from our first EP (released in 2015).
Risks and challenges
The album recording process has many expenses and we need help offsetting those costs. From studio time, to engineering, mixing, mastering and manufacturing, the bill adds up quick!
Recording / mixing / mastering: $8,000
Graphic designs / album art / photos: $2,000
Initial pressing of full length album: $1,500
Mailing / Kickstarter fees: $2,000
Kickstarter rewards: $2,500
Initial total = $15,000
This is our best estimate and we will likely exceed our budget. We're asking for $13,000 to help offset the bulk of the cost, and to ensure we can complete this and send it out into the world.
We cannot wait to share our music with you! Thank you!!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
