After falling victim to four broken MacBook chargers in one year, I was left tired and frustrated. I had no choice but to purchase the same $80, failure-prone charger. That was the final straw, I'd had enough.
That fourth charger actually belonged to Scott, an industrial design classmate at The Ohio State University. We looked around and noticed we weren't the only ones plagued by the fraying charger issue. While grabbing a bite to eat we started throwing around ideas.
We pitched the concept at the Ohio State Business Builders Club student start-up competition. After taking home first place and $1500, we moved into concept development and prototyping.
It wasn't long until we expanded the team, enlisting the help of Andrew Lien, a manufacturing engineer.
With all of our energy focused on product design and development, we added a professional graphic designer, Samuel Silverman, to begin building the brand around the product.
We took our prototyping to the next level by contracting a local Columbus company, Laser Reproductions to produce our high-end production quality prototypes.
Through a combination of 3-D printing, hand-poured molds and professional prototyping we were able to refine our concept to a final design. Now, the next step is production.
This is where you come in!
With your help, we can make this project a reality. Check out our awesome rewards, back our project and share it with everyone!
On April 8th, 2014, Juiceboxx Inc. took home First Place at The Ohio State University's Annual Business Plan Competition. Now, in order to take this project to the next step, we need to raise the funds to purchase the metal injection molds and our first production run.

Risks and challenges
Every project has its own challenges and risks. Our experienced team has taken every effort to keep all risks to a minimum.
As we've already sourced our manufacturers for tooling and injection molding we know the exact cost and time frame to deliver the rewards.
If a delay were to occur, it would most likely be the result of tooling adjustments. We have to make sure the design is just right so we can ensure the delivery of a great, high-quality product to our backers.
Our goal is to be totally transparent with all backers and communicate with them every step of the way. Since every backer will be joining our journey, we find it imperative to keep them thoroughly informed of the remaining process.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
