About this project
Heady Conduct simply means ‘exhilarating behaviour’. We want to make a difference in people’s lives and we believe theatre can do that. We are passionate about projects that move the soul and make us review our outlook. Please help us to produce RECKLESS and launch Heady Conduct Theatre Company.
Actors are often not paid, and we feel it is important to pay and honour a person’s work. We want to create career opportunities for young and talented people, and help them into employment. We believe by not paying people we threaten the sustainability of the individual, diminish their value, and in turn weaken the art form and industry.
This is a direct action philanthropic way of giving where your donation will instantly impact the cast and creative team. You will see the effect of your generosity within the next month through RECKLESS. It provides us with a platform for the continued growth of the company, and allows us to nurture young artists.
If we are successful in raising our £5,000 target, your generous donation will create career opportunities and launch Heady Conduct Theatre Company. Your money will help increase the scope of RECKLESS. We plan to meet with producers and other interested parties with the hope of extending the life of RECKLESS beyond the run at The Rose Playhouse. Thank you.
RECKLESS. 3rd – 27th September. The Rose Playhouse, Bankside.
RECKLESS is an epic story of outrageous love and forbidden joy, exploring the timeless matters of the heart. Inspired by the great works of classical drama, Heady Conduct has blended elements of Greek and Elizabethan storytelling into this original piece of theatre. RECKLESS is about the way in which people deal with loss and love in the same breath.
The Rose Playhouse was the first theatre built on Bankside in 1587. Funded by Henslow, the theatre produced Shakespeare’s, Marlow’s and Kyd’s plays.
The Rose Playhouse was producing new, innovative work 400 years ago and we are proud to be following in this tradition with RECKLESS.
The attendance to RECKLESS is key. Filling the theatre will give the actors, producers and theatre confidence. Please be a part of launching Heady Conduct and support us by booking tickets to RECKLESS. We promise an exhilarating evening. Ticket information below.
Please share RECKLESS with friends and family you know who are passionate about theatre and the arts.

The Rose Playhouse.
The Rose Playhouse is at a unique turning point in its history. Buried in time, it was uncovered and excavated in 1988. Soon after, office blocks were built over the excavation in favour of rejuvenating the economy. Today, water covers the foundation and the theatre looks caught between different periods of time. In 2016, The Rose Playhouse will begin its journey to restoration, uncovering the original Rose Playhouses’ foundations and building a fully functional theatre around them.
Please note signed programmes, posters, and Rodda products can be picked up when you see the show. Please tell us when you intend to come and all other gifts will be arranged via email. You can contact us through our website headyconduct.com If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.
We would like to thank Rodda's for their generous support. We would also like to thank the supporters who have kindly donated their cottage for a week long let.
Risks and challenges
We have our venue confirmed and once we open our only revenue stream is from ticket sales, of which a portion goes to support The Rose Playhouse. The Kickstarter will help us meet the costs of the show. As a company we wanted to start by making sure our creative team is looked after. So we decided for our first project that we would commit to paying our creative team an amount for each show to sustain them as they work for us. If we do not sell enough tickets the company might not be able to carry on with future projects. We will do our best to get audience members in the house but you can really help just by telling people about this new company.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
