Bricks and Mortar

We are a collaborating team of Massachusetts College of Art and Design Graduate students;
• Clive Moloney, http://clivemoloney.blogspot.com
• Zachary Herrmann
• Nick Sullivan
• Recent graduate Jessie Vogel, http://jessievogel.com

We propose to coordinate and curate an exhibition at 225 Friend Street in Boston West End. We intend to hold the exhibition from August 24th to September 1st.

We have invited regional, national and international artists to submit their work for review by jury to be considered for the exhibition. We are excited to show our own work alongside the work of these selected artists. Our work currently shares a dialog that we hope to enrich by selecting participants that we think will broaden the discussion. Although we are four sculptors, we intent to curate an exhibition in various media, including video, painting and installation.

The final list of artists are as follows:;

• Loney Abrams from Boston, http://loneyabrams.com/

• Ramon Kassam from Limerick Ireland, http://ramonkassam.com/

• Landon O’Brien from Texas.

• Sarah Witt, thesarahwitt.com

• Ross Normandin, rossnormandin.com

• Jon Waites, jonwaites.com

• Andrea Sparks

Boston hosts a challenging atmosphere for young artists to converse due to a limited amount of artist-led and non-profit exhibition spaces. Therefore we aim to create an exciting, dynamic exhibition consisting of young, quality, non-established artists that will make for an interesting dialogue with the local Boston art community and the international arena.

We require $2,000 in funding in order to realize our project. Fortunately we have great support from the MassArt Graduate Program and they intent to pay our insurance and utility bills. Our main expenses consist of the transportation of artists and artwork from the States and abroad and also for the general costs of installing and running an exhibition.

So please support our project and help showcase quality contemporary art in Boston.
