About

Our gloriously disgusting zombies, created by the awesome artist Jamie Noble Frier, who will be doing the art for the whole game!
These zombies are finished, and should give a good preview of the final art to come!

Dead Sprint is doing something different than most horror/zombie themed games. This game is about replicating the feeling of being chased by an unstoppable force, similar to many horror themed video games of recent years.
We are making a game designed to be very intense that has you scrambling each turn to decide how to stay ahead of other players so you aren't eaten. After every player has had a turn the horde piece gets to move, and for every zombie left on the board unharmed the horde will use them to catch up to players more quickly.
Here's some of the basics:

The Players and the Horde piece get their own start tile.

At the start of every turn draw one playing card.

Move in any direction except diagonally.

Roll a number that meets or exceeds the zombie's HP number to defeat it.

Move over a space with a token to retrieve it.

Draw a tile from either the Straight or Corner deck, depending on table space and connect the walls.

Fill any new tiles placed per the icons on each space.

After every player has had a turn the horde piece will roll to move. If the horde piece moves over a zombie they get to add +1 to their move roll.

The exit tile can be placed anywhere in the deck of straight tiles but we recommend putting it randomly in the upper half of the deck (about 8-10 tiles down) for the ideal amount of time.

Drawing and placing the exit tile. The first person to land on the spaces marked EXIT wins the game, assuming everyone makes it that far!

A text only version of the rules can be downloaded now.

We've had a lot of positive feedback so far, here's a few of the positive reviews from players:

Here's some footage of a 5 player game at Medford Comic-Con, we all had a lot of fun!

The components in every box:
- 36 Tile Cards: Includes 21 Straight tiles, 12 Corner tiles, 2 Start tiles and 1 Exit tile.
- 5 Player pieces
- 1 Horde piece
- 50 Normal zombie pieces
- 5 'Sploder zombie pieces
- 10 Crawler zombie pieces
- 5 Brute zombies pieces
- 3 Dice: 2 (red & green) are six sided, and 1 (yellow) has the numbers 1-3 on 6 sides.
- 40 Health tokens: 25 First aid kits, 15 Adrenaline
- 50 Weapon tokens: 25 weapon +1's, 15 weapon +2's, 10 weapon +3's
- 54 Playing cards

If we reach our funding goal we have a few planned stretch goals in mind!
•Zombie Art Variant: The normal zombie piece will get an extra art variant, a female zombie. Always nice to have more variety in our zombies.
•Player Art Variant: One extra player to choose from, the game player limit is still 5 though. We're still knocking around ideas on what this player will look like, leaning toward hospital patient.
•Felt Lining: Every copy of Dead Sprint will have felt lining in their box lid! A lot nicer surface to roll dice on.

Your game(s) should be shipped June 2018, but please allow for any unforeseen delays. Shipping is free for U.S. backers and $10 - $19 for other countries. Backers are responsible for any customs or import duties imposed by their government (if any).

We are a new studio following our passion, making the games we would want to play! The studio founder has years of experience in the video game industry as a game designer, with several games released on the mobile app stores.
The idea of Dead Sprint the board game came about because as a game designer with a family, including 2 children, I wanted to create a board game that we could all play that didn't require a large chunk of time. One of the main goals with the board game is to make sure it doesn't require a huge amount of time for a session without sacrificing fun and depth for all those gamers (parents, students etc.) who simply don't have the time for long board games. The average play session depending on how many players there are ranges from 20-45 minutes.
We've been diligently working on this project for such a long time, we can't wait to get into the wild!

Risks and challenges
We know with any project there can be concerns about the risks and challenges we may have. As the founder of the studio I have utilized my years of design experience in the game industry to make sure the game has been extensively playtested and we are confident the design is good to go. There should not be any major changes that would hold up production.
Our partners with producing the art and manufacturing have their own schedules and have given estimates to the best of their knowledge. There is always the chance of some unforeseeable shipping or printing issue or a deadline not being met and if something does happen we will keep all the backers up to date on this information.
