Have a question?
Is the product still being made in Europe?
The next big update regarding investment, product development and project roadmap is coming on Monday.
Hello. Are there any updates? How is manufacturing going? Do you a rough ETA for when Milo gets shipped. Thank you
Thank you Magnus. Yes, it does take a bit of extra time.
Millo looks fabulous and I am looking forward to share all the work we did.
Thanks Adam for clearing out the battery question for me. I´m confident that we get a great product at the end, although a little late as most Kickstarters tend to. Hope you have an updated delivery schedule for us soon.
Are refunds an option at this point? If so I would like to start that process. Please let us know.
we actually have explored that option of changing batteries separately. However, all the battery connectors are made to stand 2A and we have 15. So welding is the only option.
It will be quite easy to replace inbuilt battery pack, but not as an option for additional power and often replacement.
If there will be a demand for additional power source, this is something that can be easily done.
Hi Adam, thanks for your reply. Don´t think you are correct about not be able to change battery because of high power since I have seen powerbanks where you can add your own 18650 cells. However since you have chosen a welded batterypack for Millo does that mean that we can remove the pack ourself and replace it with another pack from you or do we need to send the Millo to you to have it changed? Since you might go for additional battery power that can be connected via the charging port in the future I assume it´s a bit tricky to remove the inbuilt batterypack.
Good afternoon, Magnus,
Li-ion 18650 cells due to high power can not be changed one by one.
They have to be welded to a single battery pack.
The same as with all batteries, after a few years the charging capacity will be reduced.
Therefore, it will be possible to change Millo battery pack as a unit.
In the future we might have additional battery power available,
that could be connected via charging port.
Regarding the cells we have a few options right now.
Hi Adam! A year ago we talked a little about the battery in Millo. At that time it wasn´t possible to change battery ourself but since it would be a nice feature to bring extra batteries on long trips, have you been able to find a solution for us? Nice thing about high power lithium batt. is that de only get better and cheaper and now the price has decreased 25% in the last year for the LG HG2 in the same store I checked a year ago(5,95€ to 4,45€). Are we still on with that cell or have you moved to the Sony VTC6 with an even higher discharge rate at 30A?
I do not have an exact delivery date yet.
As soon as we confirm the production schedule, I will let you know.
My apologies for the inconvenience and thank you so much for your patience.
We are expecting with Millo Launching.
we are working on the timeline of manufacturing with our partner.
I should have some more information in a few weeks.
So when should we expect the orders to be fulfilled ?
thank you so much for your support!
One way or another, we will have a Vacuum lid option available.
It is just question of time.
And BTW I dream about the vacuum version that couldn't be funded... Wish your co-financial could help and if so, I'd be pleased to update my contribution if need so !
As a multiple backer, I've to say that project creator that updates there backers frequently usually deliver the product (late, hey, it's Kickstarter, not Amazon).
I've support more than a hundred projects and only 5% of the project have failed... The majority had 1 year late, a quater 2 years or more and the last quater was delivered on time or less than a year late.
People complaining before it even fails doesn't seem's to understand the concept of Kickstarter. You help project creator for project that could fail. Of course, in case it fail, I agree with Ed, you should be able to have a look at the financial data. In my point of view if it works, I don't need to know this detail.
Great product idea, Adam. Can't wait to have it in my kitchen !
I fully understand your concerns and thank you for being proactive.
I will be able to share some financial details with everyone after we finish the deal.
You are right, this is the first hardware manufacturing project for us and we were faced to learn a lot the hard way. Despite that we will be late, everything should be fine.
Also feel free to contact me directly at any time - firstname.lastname@example.org
Dear Adam, I will be very glad to admit I was wrong. It is true that you provide us with updates, which explains why I keep a bit of hope for this project, however we could learn only after the fact that all the Kickstarter money was already spent and that you needed new financing sources to deliver the project. Transparency should include the financial balance sheet during the project.
thank you so much for your support.
Next update will be in two weeks!
I would say that as long as you keep us posted and that the product will meet expectation, this is fair. We know we are on kickstarter, not on a web shop ;-)
we will be very happy to prove you wrong.
My conclusion at this point: another project that provided lots of money to an “idea man” with no know-how on mass-producing anything. More money is apparently needed to finance the tooling. Get ready to receive the bankruptcy notice, fellow backers. Kickstarter has become since last year as scam-ridden as Indiegogo.
I've just been laid off from my job after 29 years. Is there a way, with sincere regrets, to cancel my order? I need to cut back everything I can.
I have unlocked your account in BackerKit platform.
You should get an e-mail with an access to you shipment address.
Additionally everyone will be notified to check their shipment addresses just before shipment.
where do I check if I entered the correct shipping address for the time when it finishes?
Thanks for your continuous feedback Adam !
you are right, according to our plan we had to finish production prototype by now.
However, for the last two month we had a challenge with new electronics. Even though we have build the board according to the reference design, sometimes the board would just burn up.
What we have finally found out is that particularly in our case at high speeds some adjustments have to be made, I can not go into the details in an open comment.
This challenge have caused us a delay.
So we are waiting for the new board and I really hope this issue is sorted.
Based on the results, I will update everyone regarding the time line in our January update.
As per time line, you should have a production prototype ready, and nearly ready to start with mass production. Are you still on track ? Would it be possible to have a full demo of the prototype ?
Thanks a lot
Millo project has been backed by a group of private investors from the very beginning.
Even though there are so many exciting new technologies for a quick prototyping, starting a mass production is a different matter. Before a single plastic part can be made there is an investment into the tooling.
So it was only a question of the finance source. The managing board have decided to look for a new people (or venture capital) that would not only invest, but also bring some related knowledge and business connections.
Thank you for posting the update Adam. One question though: we wish you to get a positive answer from the venture capital fund, but should we understand that it is now required for you to stay afloat long enough to deliver to the backers?
If there is one thing that the backers are entitled to even more than the product we helped finance, it is total transparency.
Glad to hear that « everything is on track ». The last time I heard a similar claim, as well as vague mentions of investment rounds such as the one you made two months ago with no follow-up, that was the Tiko 3D project creator beating around the bush before I received the proof of claim form to fill after their bankruptcy.
So in this case you have to be very specific with your backers. We will be waiting for more information from you.
Thanks Adam ! Can’t wait to read it ;-)
yes, a big one :) I am eager to share it with everyone in a few days.
Some things take a bit longer then we have expected, nevertheless, we are on track.
Thank you so much for you patience,
Any update for this month ?
Hope everything going smooth!
so far we have tried one vacuum solution, but it looks quite bulky on Millo lid.
So we are still looking for some delicate way to install the vacuum valve under the lid.
It is only a matter of time and some R&D. Our engineers are quite busy with the main Millo functionalities and preparation for mass production at the moment.
The vacuum functionality will be definitely introduced, but still not sure if we will be able to make it for the first production.
Nevertheless, it is only a matter of changing a lid. The Kickstarter community is and always will be a special one for Millo, so we will figure a way to keep you happy.
What becomes of the stretch goal to add vacuum sealing lids?
Was nice to read the update Adam ! Thanks ;-)
we have just finished "accelerated ageing" stand and are running series of tests on the pre-production motors this week.
Will share all the details and a video at the end of this week.
All the best,
Any new update from your side ? Would be nice to know where you are on this ;-)
You welcome, Kevin!
It has been dedicated already :)
Thank You!! By Advertising on Facebook and Twtter will you deduct the L10 from my total when you check me out? Thank you!!
the dark colour will be available at some point later :) You will be the first to know!
I fully understand you, shipping is expensive and I wish it would be cheaper, but this is something out of our control. We will be using UPS worldwide.
Thank you for you further support, extras are added to your account.
PS - Where is that Black or Navy Blue Color!!!???? It is awesome! IS it available?
Adam _ Idid repost on my Facebook page for the L10 Credit!! I also just purchased an extra L425 in ADD-Ons... Prices were a tad high - but then I see I have to pay an extra L19 pounds for shipping!
Same Address for Order and Add-Ons and L38 pounds for shipping sounds AWFULLY Expensive... This might be holding many people make at least here in America... look at it from a US Dollars perspective!! Thanks Adam!! Want to be Fair to everyone!! Cheers, Kevin
BRILLIANT Update!! We ALL Appreciate all you are working on! I'm hoping as we ADD things to to Backerkit Survey we are offered the same great price we put up originally!! I might even want to buy two more units... so I always have one on hand!! I care give for my 93 year old father and want to keep one at his house as well as mine! Congratulations on this project and a wish is that this product is durable for the long haul!!! That doesn't mean I won't be buying the next upgraded version - But I want this to LAST!!! Thank you And Great Speed in getting this finished!!
First of all, congrats for this succès ! I've a question about the vacuum system. I know the stretch goal has not been reached, but it was not clear for me if it would come anyway or not. Could you clarify this point ?
Thanks a lot !
Adam, Just bought several sets of drinking "glasses" that are made from a polycarbonate composition! Not sure if they are BPA Free (I think so) but they are basically unbreakable, but I'm not sure about the scratch resistance?! They certainly look, feel and appear to be "glass"!
Just an idea!! Keep up the great work! Thanks!!
the first cup will be made from BPA free plastic, as we what to emphasize on-the-go functionality and easy portability.
We also considering to have smaller cups made from glass in the near future.
