As many of you know, I will be traveling the country promoting my second book Eating My Feelings coming out from Three Rivers Press/Random House this August. I am so excited to be going on tour again, as I did with my first book Blackouts and Breakdowns back in 2012. But if there was one thing I learned during my first time on the road it is that touring is expensive and Lord knows I cannot get caught sleeping in a car in Dallas like last time especially not since Heather Locklear will be my Flat Stanley this time around. Heather has no time for that nonsense, but is very excited about seeing The Alamo. Therefore, I am reaching out to you guys for help. For this tour, the stakes are even higher because I have found that the best way to promote yourself in this business is to tour and so I am implementing some never-before-used tactics to promote myself and the book including a virtual book tour. Not only will I be touring the country promoting Eating My Feelings in thirty different cities, but now you will be able to join in on the fun wherever I am and before I am through, people from every single state in the country will be a part of the tour, something unheard of in this industry. I will be the very first author to take on such a task and this too takes time and money to design. I am so proud of this book. Now you can be part of the fun as well. 2013 is going to be a wild ride and if it weren't for my amazing fans and followers, none of this would be worth it. Please donate whatever you can, and if you can't please pass this information along to someone who may be interested.
About the tour:
EATING MY FEELINGS hits stores on August 6, 2013. Between then and Sept. 1 I will be doing book events in NYC/Long Island/NJ. Beginning Sept. 2 I will be traveling across the country promoting the book for six weeks. I will be in the following cities during that six week period from Sept. 2 - Oct. 14: Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Tempe, Houston, Dallas, Tulsa, New Orleans, Nashville, Knoxville, Atlanta, Savannah, Charleston, Chapel Hill, Washington DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Ithaca, Providence, Buffalo, Boston, Chicago, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Columbus, Lincoln and Oxford, MS.
Risks and challenges
The only real risk I have learned from touring the country last year with "Blackouts and Breakdowns" is people not showing up for events. In order to make sure this does not happen, I working together very closely with my publisher to make sure this book is heavily promoted in each city that we go to. Because I have done this once before, I have a great network in each city I am going to and will be able to manage this tour much better than the first. The books will be in stores across the country on August 06, 2013 so the risk of them not being there when I come to each city is no longer an issue.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
