This is what results from seamlessly fusing instruments both old and new with cutting-edge elements of electronica.

A lilting harp. Two pianos, and a fat bass synth. Taiko drums, electric guitar, then a haunting pad...
The idea is simple: gather a group of talented people, and give them access to every sonic possibility the 21st century has to offer. We are in the midst of a huge technological renaissance, and plan on taking full advantage of it. However, we are not ones to ignore humanity's existing sonic triumphs either.
In our first EP, we aim to explore a wide variety of sonic textures by combining diverse instrumentation from across human history with avant-garde composition and arranging, and will draw upon as many genres and styles as necessary.
Melding such a diverse sonic palette with compositions that derive from classical forms and contemporary song form alike, we aim to redefine the way analog and digital sounds interact with each other to create great music.
Of course, none of this is possible without money. Recording, mixing, and mastering such a large array of instruments requires a lot of time in the studio.
For the past five months, we have paid for everything out-of-pocket, and minimized costs wherever possible. Over the coming months, we will be recording a large string ensemble, along with multiple band and solo sessions. Due to the size and demand of our sessions, it is no longer possible for us to pay for the time ourselves. Every dollar will bring us closer to our goal, and open the door for our work to continue.
We have a vision that extends far beyond this EP. By donating to the project, you are not only guaranteeing the completion of this project, but encouraging our long-term future. We are working on a live set, which will fuse digital modulation and triggering with the beauty and passion of live musicianship. Speaking on a personal level, I, Julian Lenz, have many, many ideas for the first, full length album. To put it simply, Trandcention is just beginning.
