6,931 backers pledged £160,055 to help bring this project to life.

It's been a bumpy ride but somehow we came through. This is thanks to you, our backers and supporters. We never dreamed we could get such great support from the community, we're deeply touched by the passion you've shown and how much energy (and hard earned money!) you put into making this happen. We can't thank you enough. We came to Kickstarter to make the game we've always dreamed of, we've always been highly motivated but your enthusiasm and dedication are a stronger motivator than anything we've known and now we know we're making this game for you!

A special thanks goes out to Brian Fargo, TotalBiscuit, Stephen Fry, Zojoi (Shadowgate), Corey Cole (Hero-U), Obsidian Entertainment, and everyone else who helped us!

Now we're going to focus on making you the best game we possibly can. It's going to take a little time for the whole team to relocate so we can work together but we won't stop working hard for a minute. We will stay in touch with you, keep you updated and get your feedback. If you haven't done it yet then please come join our forums where we already have a great community.

Thank you!

So glad this game has made the funding target. One of the easiest decisions on spending £40 i've ever made. onward and upward!

It would have really been a shame, if you hadn't made it.

I strongly believe that a much more procedural approach is the future of gaming. Just like young Hollywood first had to learn to "show, don't tell" and separate itself from the theater, games now have to learn to "play, don't show" and separate themselves from the movies, which they are still trying to emulate much too hard.

The big studios and publishers are much too gridlocked and can't break free of their old ways. It's up to small independent developers to raise the bars and introduce new methods and ideas, in order to push the envelope.

I believe Sui Generis is pioneering some innovative ideas, that might and should become new industry standard one day.

If I were the Bare Mettle people, I would still keep promoting the project via PayPal pre-orders/donations. For developing a a big game like an RPG 150,000 pounds isn't that much and it would be wise to at least have one alternate source of income, so every time they post an update/screenshots there's a chance of people finding late but still being able to contribute.

    8. Motorsheep on November 30, 2012

Congratulations! So glad to see that it worked out in the end.

    9. Arild Jacobsen on November 30, 2012

Congratulations! It got really tense during the last day; really wanted to see this pull through, and here we are! Now I can look forward to a lot more interesting developments :)

I initially pledged just because I though the technology was impressive and I'd like to see more work done on it. I assumed it would be of use to other game development, even if I wasn't convinced of the potential for this particular game, but I eventually found myself buying into the game Sui Generis as well, not just the tech demo :)
(Even upgraded my pledge during the final stretch. The writing updates actually did a lot of that work, and I think some animation work will go a long way too.)

Just noticed though; my upgraded pledge doesn't explicitly state "Previous reward", but I assume the £30-tier includes beta access?

I knew we can make it when it's only less then 5.5K to go.
But yeah, can't wait to test and discuss during alpha and beta. :)
(On that part, I already backed so many games, LOL, I have to restraint me visiting kickstarter for a while.)

Bare Mettle team, your group has the chance and the ability to make your mark on this corner of RPG gaming, up there alongside the huge production teams with outlandish budgets. You've amassed £160,000 on Kickstarter directly from almost 7,000 gamers, who have each watched the videos of what you have done so far and heard your philosophy, and who, despite knowing that they won't see a finished product for over a year, said to themselves "You know what, I have to be a part of this". And we can't wait to see what you guys can do.

    14. Benjamin Lee on November 30, 2012

Congratulations guys! I was cheering for you, and I'm glad I could help you get there. Now go out there and do what you've been waiting all these years for! Make a great game, and have fun doing it!

Wonderful! Wonderful! Take a day or two to celebrate and then start to get to work at this game! :)

Congratz on being funded, this kickstarter was so obvious for me to support when I saw it. Hopefully your ideas and the following game will help innovate future games for the genre.

Hmm now I have to think on the character I must create.....

Congratulations & it's really nice to see you guys acknowledging the help from other KS projects so openly . I know that's how I got here and it really does help foster a helpful and supportive community. Hopefully we'll see that community spirit continue on into the future across more and more KS projects. Fantastic stuff Bare Mettle & in fact, fantastic stuff fellow backers!
@Christopher Dusky/Daniel Martin - welcome to KS! I've had the "pleasure" of funding a few games now that have been real nail-biters. It can be tough for the heart by wow does it build a strong, supportive & emotive community! Also, it's worth checking out some of the completed game projects, since they often have paypal links you can follow & maybe still snag yourself a tasty reward. :D

Yay! Congratulations!! This was a close one. I would've been really sad to see this not being funded. The engine and the whole combat system has so much potential! I've wanted to see such a physics driven system where weight and actual impact points matter since forever. Thank you for having the passion, commitment and the skills to pull this off! Kudos to everyone involved and those who help to make this happen :)
