Multi-Media Dance company TAGsf presents new fall season at Kunst-Stoff Arts September 23rd and 24th titled 5x4.
5x4 will feature a new work by emerging choreographer Alex Jenkins along with another special guest choreographer. The evening will conclude with a brand new dance theater piece by TAGsf Director/choreographer Brian Gibbs titled Nemesis. It is based on Gibbs' fascination with comic books and Anime. Nemesis explores the random life encounters that lead a person to good or evil, along with the path they take to get there. We are all given opportunities to make choices that potentially better or worsen our situations. This new work will also explore the concept of identity and mask/costume. At some point, we all wear some kind of mask in our lives. We wear them in an attempt to control the way others perceive us. A great example of the mask concept is Superman; he is a god amongst men but wishes to be perceived as an unassuming, every-day man.Nemesis will be made with new music, sets, costumes and lighting, items that will be purchased/produced with funds from the Kickstarter campaign. We already have the dates booked and we are valiantly trying to raise $4,000.00 to also help pay for the dancers, rehearsal space, and web support. TAGsf will conduct a strong online social networking campaign through Btroubles.com ,Twitter, Blog and other social media outlets. We will be uploading new content weekly such as behind the scene pics, rehearsal clips, new music and dance films made specifically for the web with special guest artist that will introduce some of the characters/artists that will be in the show. You can help! We realize that these are hard economic times but if 200 people each donate $20 we can make our goal. Better yet, if 100 people contribute $40, we will make it even sooner. Whatever your budget will allow will be most appreciated. Thanks in advance for your support. We hope to see you at the show!
