Comikaze The Boom Boom Girls of Wrestling Comikaze
In November 2012 I visit the American Film Market (AFM) in Santa Monica.
My dream was to make an awesome, kick-ass thriller movie like Quentin Tarantino or Robert Rodriguez, only with a much smaller budget. At AFM, while watching a panel of seasoned executives, agents, and Hollywood movers and shakers, the idea came to me in a flash.
During the Q&A portion of the talk, I asked them how I could get the biggest buzz for my project with a miniscule budget? They couldn't answer my question, but their enthusiasm to my asking it only encouraged me. This was something that had never been done before! At that moment, I made up my mind to put together a movie with a budget of only $1000. If I could pull it off, then this could change the world of movie making forever, putting the power for creative and artistic expression in the hands of anyone with the will and the determination to do it.
THE BOOM BOOM GIRLS OF WRESTLING was born! THE MOVIE:
THE BOOM BOOM GIRLS OF WRESTLING tells the tale of 6 women who are determined to become professional female wrestlers and perform in a huge show in Las Vegas. Through heartbreak and hardship, the girls hone their skills, but, as they are on their way to the culmination of their dreams: the Las Vegas show, they find themselves trapped in a ghost town in the middle of nowhere with a killer.
It took us $5000 to make a feature film in Hollywood.

TOP 4 MAJOR QUESTIONS
QUESTION #1 – Why are you on Kickstarter? When you have already finish the film?
Yes, we have already, successfully, completed this film. As an indie Filmmaker we always need / seeking financially help. Up to this point I have always put my own money in my films. I have self - finance TESTING LIFE and have self - finance THE BOOM BOOM GIRLS OF WRESTLING. With Testing life i didn't make any penny back from that movie. The truth is, being a indie filmmaker doesn't pay any bills. I have another day time job that pay my bills. With this film THE BOOM BOOM GIRLS OF WRESTLING, Hollywood acquire this movie and was very interested in return for nothing. I decided not to gave my baby away, but to self - distributed it.
This is my first KICKSARTER campaign and we need is YOUR Contribution and help to get this movie out. Indie Filmmmakers need MONEY to do their ART. The ARTFORM of FILM COSTS MONEY. We are appealing to people who have enjoyed and supported my work in the past and would like it to continue into the FUTURE.
QUESTION #2 – How does Movie Distribution Work?:
The Distribution cycle:
Someone has an idea for a movie. They create an outline and use it to promote interest in the idea. A studio or independent investor decides to purchase rights to the film. People are brought together to make the film (screenwriter, producer, director, cast, crew). The film is completed and sent to the studio. The studio makes a licensing agreement with a distribution company. The distribution company determines how many copies (prints) of the film to make. The distribution company shows the movie (screening) to prospective buyers representing the theaters. The buyers negotiate with the distribution company on which movies they wish to lease and the terms of the lease agreement. The prints are sent to the theaters a few days before the opening day. The theater shows the movie for a specified number of weeks (engagement). You buy a ticket and watch the movie. At the end of the engagement, the theater sends the print back to the distribution company and makes payment on the lease agreement
As you can see, there is a lot that goes on before a movie is ever shown to a paying audience!
QUESTION # 3 - What does a Theatrical Distribution Cost?
These are the cost and headaches for a indie Filmmaker.
Film Certification fee
Theater fee Film certification fee Digital cinema prints Digital Master cost Duplication cost Cost of encoding/encryption Applications (including generating the KDM codes needed to ‘unlock’ the digital files in the cinema servers to enable the film to play) Digital trailer costs Transport to cinemas Virtual print fees [LINK] Other digital costs. Trailer print costs Transport to cinemas

Poster printing Film poster design Print advertising TV spots Online ads Radio spots Film trailer for cinemas and online/ TV Subtitles/audio description tracks Content for film website(s) Promotional leaflets/flyers, Other production costs
Research screening/exit polling, Additional materials Couriers, copying, incidental expenses Contingency
Total: A LOT OF $$$$
QUESTION # 4 - Why didn't you want to give your film to the studios?
The vision with the studio and the vision from the indie filmmaker sometimes does not coincide. They wanted my movie, they saw the cult appeal and the value in it. After reading the proposal we found many points that were not in the filmmakers favor. I paid out of my pocket for this movie including all the hardships, tears and sweat that i sowed into this project. We are passionate about this film. We want to give back to our wonderful cast and crew. Our vision is to make The Boom Boom Girls of Wrestling a Cult Film. This movie is a THRILLER. We want the Audience, to sit down in a Theatre to see it.
We deeply appreciate everyone and we mean everyone who has stood up, backed our PROJECT so we can MAKE HISTORY.
