About this project
My name is Jon Sachs, and I am a photographer and a graphic designer. I stumbled upon a group of over 50 old farm trucks sitting on a dirt lot in Sprague, Washington. I eventually found out they belong to a fellow named Dave Jones.
I fell in love with with Dave's old trucks. The two of us decided to work together to let more people know about them. We call it Dave's Old Truck Rescue.

Our Kickstarter goal is to fund the printing of 1000 copies of this book so we can distribute them through bookstores and truck shows. We want this to be an affordable book, so it's paperback. And even though it costs more, we are printing this book of American trucks — in America.
I have already designed and created the book, and printed sample copies using an online service. The book features images of most of the trucks, some with stories by Dave. There are also old truck ads, a collage of logos, maps, and more.
By the way, I forgot to say so, but ALL pledges of $45 or more ALSO get the book!

Actually, I made two books.
The second book is a purely photographic tribute to the colors, textures, and great little details. We're going to print the truck book first, but if we overshoot our Kickstarter goal by enough, we can print and distribute them both.
Risks and challenges
Since the book is already designed, funding the printing of an affordable book (in America) is our first challenge. We also need to find channels of distribution, but will start with truck shows and independent book stores.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
