About this project
Sorry about the video quality. Its my pocket camera and the fact is, where i rent the people sleep in a lot, so i don't want to disturb them.
My goal here is to be able to afford a "Canon SLR Digital Camera" with telephoto lens and macro lens. I want to be able to take a photo of a deer from a half mile away and see the reflection in his eyes. I want to be able to take a photo of a butterfly and see the scales on its wings without scaring it away. In order to do this I will need a better camera than my canon pocket camera. Yes that Monarch Butterfly image up top is from my little Canon Power Shot SX210 IS pocket camera. :)
Why get a SLR camera?
The difference between a Canon DSLR and a Pocket camera is the capability of taking pictures on the move and quickly. You also can change out lenses for whatever the subject may be that you are photographing. I just graduated from college last December 2013 with my BA in Illustration. I am a painter and sculptor and avid photographer. I love taking pictures of things. Things like walls with unique textures, trees of different shapes, people, cars, skies, animals of all types. I have a library of images on my old laptop that is from my trips to my dad house numbering in the thousands. Yes I end up with over 300 images every trip LOL.What will this fund?
Well the first and most important thing it will fund is the "Canon SLR Digital Camera" and then the telephoto lens and a macro lens. Most cameras come with a basic lens for normal photography so I will have to get the lenses separately.
Camera: Canon EOS 70D 20.2 MP Digital SLR Camera with Dual Pixel CMOS AF and EF-S 18-135mm F3.5-5.6 IS STM Kit $1300.00
Lense: Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM Telephoto Zoom Lens for Canon SLR Cameras. $2,360.00
Next thing on the list will be the camera bag to keep everything safe from being damaged.
Bag: Manfrotto MB MP-BP-20BB Pro Backpack 20 (Black) $170.00
Next will be a spare battery as well as memory card since i tend to wear them out. $200.
But its not just camera stuff. Nope! I have my own supply of brushes and such but they are worn out and we don't want worn out brushes for a large canvas painting do we? Also I'm going to need canvases and frames for them. I have an old, OLD wooden Easel that is rickety as heck but i still like it. It was a gift from my Uncle. Ill just sturdy it up a bit but if i have any funding left over ill get a new Easel to paint on. :)
What I plan to do is utilize this camera and my knowledge of photography as well as illustration and blend them into one medium. I love painting and my mediums are watercolor, gauche, acrylic, oils, pencil, pen, pastels, etc. And it wont be limited to just paintings it will be for sculptures as well. I also work digitally so I could use the high quality images to create worlds unlike our own in the computer with Photoshop.
There's so much blood, violence, gore, horror and death in games, comics, TV and movies out there in the world today that people lose sight of what's beautiful anymore. I stopped watching TV 5 years ago and don't plan on starting again anytime soon. I want to pull people away from the box and into a world of color and beauty that so many have forgotten about.
Are you with me?
So what do you think? Will you follow me on this journey? I hope so because It's a wonderful world out there and I believe everyone needs to experience it :)
Now for the SWAG!

$45. Pledge: You get buttons and a print signed by me. Here's an example of my digital work and traditional work.
$75. Pledge: you get a "Sleeping Beauty Bat Statue". Below are some I made. :)
$100. Pledge: you get the buttons, the print and a "Sleeping Beauty Bat Statue".
$150. Pledge: You will get the buttons, the print, a statue and 1 random resin "unicorn Horn, a bag of 10 Creature Claws, Dog nose or Cat nose". Mind you its not one of each, its one item from all those resin items so it could be a nose or it could be a unicorn horn, etc. They are all resin and random colors so I will literally be reaching into a box and what I pull out you will get. They are fun for costumes or other cool projects. Surprises are fun :) You never know, I might throw something else in there thats completely random and original, Maybe a mini sculpture or original sketch? Ya never know ;)
Risks and challenges
The buttons and prints I can make here at home as well as the bats so the only risk is that the weather will prove too cold for the stone castings to dry in time but I will do my best to make sure they are dried thoroughly, painted and then sent to their new home. :)Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
