We love the look of these minimalistic Mid-Finger rings, and have chosen to begin with this style as a springboard for willow & bloch. Starting small, with one product, we would love to expand and offer styles to suit different tastes and interests. We're looking to fund our first production run, gaining the momentum that will allow us to grow our product line and create more simple, stunning designs.
It's a pretty simple story, really. One day, Logan's sister Shanna, found a baby ring she was given as an infant from her grandmother. Not wanting to lose it, she stuck it on her pinky finger, the only finger on which it would actually fit. She didn't mean to leave it on, but after a few days she found she liked it's unique look and feel. Comments from friends started pouring in, with many requests of where they could get one of their own. Similar rings could be found at various locations, but only at exclusive prices or low-quality substitutes. After a few conversations with her brother, one of our founders, the willow & bloch idea was born: simple, elegant mid-finger rings that wouldn't break the bank... or break at all. Or bend, or yellow, or turn the fingers funny colors.
After loads of finger-measuring and endless questioning, our First Edition Mid-Finger Rings are beginning to come to life as a wearable product. The design was simple- a clean, rounded edge ring with a refined look, allowing for stacking, spacing and customization. After the design was finished, the challenge was to find a manufacturer who could take our design and make the unique sizes we were after. After some searching, we were able to find just the resource we were looking for. Each ring is manufactured here in the Rocky Mountains and locally engraved with our willow & bloch emblem on the inside.
We have a goal to raise at least $2400 to start our first production run. YOU have the chance to support us and be a "backer" of the project! If we reach our goal, we will have the funds we need to manufacture all the rings, and we will ship them to all backers as "rewards". In the extremely sad event that we do not reach our goal, no ones credit card is charged, and no one gets their rings... so please share this page with your friends so we can all see these rings come to life together!
We hope our rewards are fairly straightforward: We would love your help in funding Willow & Bloch's first production run, and as a big thank you, you get rings in return! Rewards range from one to four rings, because the more rings, the more you can mix, match, combine, and style these simple silver pieces as you wish. To specify sizing, we will contact you after our project has been successfully backed.
For those who really want to show some love, we want to return the favor! We are offering a Kickstarter ONLY limited run of personally engraved rings. You will have the chance to engrave the inside of your rings with a personal message! Your name, a loved one's name, a date, or even a short message will turn two of these elegant rings into a treasured keepsake.
We will be contacting backers after our project has been successfully funded in order to establish what sizes you need. We offer from size 1.5 to 4.5 in half-step increments. (1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, 4, 4.5)
The most common questions about the rings are concerning sizing. We get a lot of "They don't fall off?!" or "How do I know what size fits?". But rest assured, there are simple answers to these questions.
The correct size ring will surely not fall off of your finger. They sit snug between the two smaller knuckles of the finger and are surprisingly comfortable. (Believe us, we've personally tested this for multiple days at a time, despite the strange looks we received as men wearing such attractive jewelry. The girls who tested them too also agree.)
For the most accurate sizing, we recommend making a two-minute stop at a local jeweler or shopping mall boutique to have your "mid" fingers sized. It's well worth a two-minute stop if you're already planning on a trip to the mall.
As a more convenient way to size your finger, but still accurate, use the willow & bloch Ring Ruler, found here. Download and print the file and follow the instructions to find your size. *Make sure your print scale is set to 100% in order to print an accurate Ring Ruler.*
If unsure or feel like you are between sizes, order slightly larger rather than smaller. These rings look great on all your fingers! We're excited to see how creative you can get with wearing them.
Our campaign will be open to backers for just 30 days! After we are successfully funded, the production and fulfillment process will begin.
Week 1: We will survey backers to establish the quantity of each size to be made. Manufacturing orders are placed!
Weeks 2-3: Manufacturing! All locally in the Rocky Mountains, using the finest materials. Our manufacturer is already arranged and ready to go. We will deal directly with them, pick up the rings ourselves, and personally handle all quality control.
Weeks 4-5: Standard and Personalized Engravings done on each ring. Packaging and Fulfillment.
Week 6: Expected delivery: On or before May 30th, 2014. We actually plan to ship all the orders a lot sooner than this, but we thought we'd leave some wiggle room for anything unforeseen!
We want to give some special shout-outs to those who have made the project as awesome as it is! To The Blue Aces, an up and coming band from Orem, Utah for their AWESOME track Velvet, and for Crystal's appearance in the video! To Bryson Alley for the priceless help with the video work. The man is Dumbledore with a camera. And of course to our family and friends, who have been our biggest cheerleaders through the process and answered our endless questions in the pursuit of the best product possible.
Risks and challenges
In working with local manufacturers, we may face delays in production and fulfillment if we receive an extremely large number of orders. However, if orders exceed local capacity, we have arranged production with a larger jewelry manufacturer who will manufacture to our unique specifications.
Another challenge that would come with large quantities is inventorying along with packaging and fulfillment, but we will arrange for help to make sure things still happen in a timely fashion. We will be working as fast as we can after we are funded to fulfill all orders! We hope to be able to ship by May 17th, 2014.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
