At Dimension Games, we're all huge Trading Card Game (TCG) fans and have been part of the TCG community for nearly 20 years. There is nothing we love more than playing TCGs, but the cost of playing them is so high that most people can't afford to buy the cards they want.
Our love of TCGs inspired us to make our own card game that is completely free. Our designers spent two years developing a new and innovative game that doesn't cost thousands of dollars to play. Check out the banners below and you can play online or print out the first three sets. We know that once you have had the chance to play, you will love the game and want to have professionally printed products for years to come.
We want to foster a community of people who love TCGs and want the cards to be available for everyone regardless of how much they can afford to spend. With your help we can make thousands of cards every year, build a community, and run tournaments, all for free. Check out the rules, we hope you enjoy playing!
Dimension has more cards available on launch day than any other TCG ever. The first sets feature 530 unique cards, and two draft formats. You can play with all of these cards today.
There are all sorts of innovations that set Dimension apart from traditional TCGs. Like a board game, whenever you buy or print out a new set, you'll have all the cards you need to play a completely new format. Every new release is packed with innovative art and gameplay, we can't wait to release dozens of new sets and show you all the amazing content we have planned.
Why Pay For a Free Game?
The big upside to providing a free version of Dimension is that it allows people to try the game out without much investment. By allowing this print-from-home version in tournaments, we're also making sure that no one is going to get priced out of playing.
We're confident that, once people try the game, they're going to want the real cards. Cutting paper isn't exactly fun, our boxed sets make playing the game fast and easy. If you get your sets through our Kickstarter, you will receive all of our Kickstarter promo cards and with a Lifetime Tier, every promo card we ever print. The money we receive from purchases will get reinvested into the game to pay artists, developers, and designers to produce our new sets. Unlike pack-based TCGs, Dimension comes in complete sets, which means you can draft them over and over again.
Dimension is committed to creating a great game for years to come. As the community grows and the Kickstarter backers are a shrinking share of the total community, we will get more purchaser support, which will offset the cost of providing Lifetime Tiers.
We strongly believe in the viability of free games, not only because of the incredible examples that already exist, but because of the incredible ability of gamers to finance the things that they love.
TCGs have traditionally been sold in booster packs. Like lottery tickets, booster packs have variable prizes, many of which are worthless. Very few have valuable cards.
Dimension cards are packaged as complete sets, much like board games. You are able to print or purchase a complete set, draft, build decks and play. You will never have to have to spend any money to play, and you certainly won't have to spend a variable, often absurdly large amount of money, like other games require.
This really sets us apart from the competition, on price as well as quality. We are able to print whatever cards we wish to without consideration for how the individual card prices will drive sales. That means more fun cards, more innovative mechanics and more varied formats.
Print out cards today, draft with friends at your local game store or play online now. We are totally open to your suggestions to innovate and make this the best TCG ever. Send your suggestions to email@example.com to make Dimension even better.
Take a glimpse at some of the awesome mechanics we spent the last two years developing. Here's a link to an overview of the rules.
We want to craft a tournament system that makes the community happy. We have a lot of ideas about how organized play should work, but we want to hear your opinions.
Local game stores will always be the backbone of our community, and we will make sure they have the resources to run all sorts of tournaments to fit their specific needs. From 6-player drafts and 4-player multiplayer, to 1,500-player team events, we are going to make sure that players and tournament organizers get to decide what is right for their local community.
Pro level TCG play has become increasingly dysfunctional. A top down approach doesn't work. We need a new outlook. We will offer several systems for the Players Union to vote on after the Kickstarter gets funded. Of course, we will always look for sponsored funding and creative ways to provide a big prize pool, but there are a hundred other details that we want the community to decide on.
Games are fun because of the community of players that love them. Our company is committed to the principle of serving its community. The Players Union is a forum where community members can discuss ways to make Dimension the best game possible. Each year, the forum will host an event where the Players Union can vote on important community issues.
Listening to the community and never betraying its trust or confidence is the absolute most important thing to us. We will have community members elect individuals to oversee our decision making in areas as diverse as tournament organization and judging to inclusiveness in the game's art. We are a small, young company, and we are committed to growing into a responsible corporate citizen. We will always remember that our business is about serving the community and never about the bottom line.
We want to provide the best TCG possible. To make that a reality, we need you to introduce your gaming group to Dimension.
Our Kickstarter is all about growing our community. The rewards we are offering are such a good value because, above all else, we want people to play this game. If we reach our stretch goals, we know that we will be able to build organized play from the ground up.
With your help, we can create a community of players who love TCGs and believe that everyone should be able to play them, no matter how much they can afford to spend.
We currently have 530 cards available today. That number is only a fraction of the over 4,000 cards we have in various stages of development. Your support will fuel the development and release those future sets.
Community involvement is the cornerstone of every aspect of Dimension. We want you to be as involved with the design process as we are. One way we’re trying to accomplish this is through the Alternate Dimensions Talent Search. Our first talent search is for artists, the last day to get involved is May 30th.
The Alternate Dimensions are a series of talent searches to find great community members to have work on the game. We have great prizes for participants, and winners will have an incredible opportunity to work in the game industry. We have 3 talent searches going on during our Kickstarter- Design, Development and Art.
If you are interested in participating or want to learn more, click on the Alternate Dimensions Talent Search banner or this link.
Details About our Rewards and Business Model
Limited and Constructed
Buying each set individually is only required for limited. Building constructed decks will require having cards from multiple sets and multiples from the same set. You could also get them through a Lifetime Tier on Kickstarter or after the Kickstarter, they will be sold individually for 1 dollar msrp. This way, you will always be able to buy a professionally printed set in a pinch for no more than 60 dollars.
The Commander Tier is great for players who are interested in playing constructed, especially Singleton, which will always be supported both casually and competitively. It is even better for players that wish to collect all of the cards, including the alternate art cards, foils, and all sorts of other premium cards we plan to make available over the years. This includes the Kickstarter Exclusive Cards! Many of these will not be included in product sets, but will be given out at tournaments, conventions, through contests and a dozen other ways that don't involve purchasing a product.
Player for Life Tier
The Player for Life Tier is perfect for players who love drafting, and can't wait to try all of the new and innovative formats we will launch over the next few years. You will still get all the individual cards that come with the Commander Tier to build Singleton decks with, and in addition, you will also get all of the sealed products that you can keep together and play like a board game as many times as you would like.
Some sets have multiple copies of individual cards, at launch, Spark of Electrica fits this mold. In the future, you may play a set that has 4 or even more copies of a single card—there is a set planned to launch next year that has 10 copies of a specific card. Other sets will have only unique cards, like Luecyd's Forge, or, they might mostly have single cards, like Rise of the Titans.
Cards will be sold for 1 dollar msrp after the Kickstarter gets funded. By getting the reward for this Tier you will get all the cards packaged in the same way that you would by purchasing them, delivered to your house whenever a new set is released.
Pro Player Tier
This tier is for competitive gamers who want to have 4 of every card so that they can build almost every possible deck the day the cards are available for tournaments. You will get 4 of every card that we ever print, including every premium card, foil, and alternate art card. This includes the Kickstarter Exclusive cards!
Since you will have 4 copies of all of the cards you will be able to build all of the draft sets we create from your collection as well. And don't worry, when we have a draft format that requires more than 4 copies of an individual card to be in the draft, we will send those along to you as well!
Players Union Tier
The Player's Union Tier is all about community building. You will receive 4 of every card to play constructed and 4 of every product so that you can run tournaments, give presents and help build a community of players around you.
As a special thank you for your incredible support for the TCG community, we will put your likeness on a card, design a set of sleeves for you, design a playmat for you, and you can spend a day at Dimension HQ, learning about our creative process!
The Benefactor Tier is for members of the community who want to see card games be free for everyone, forever. They will actively participate in the development of Dimension as a card game and as a TCG community. Most excitingly, they will get to create a funded stretch goal—something they want Dimension to deliver to all of our Backers.

Risks and challenges
We have done everything we can to make our Kickstarter a safe purchase. The first three sets are ready to go. You can play the game right now for free, and decide if its right for you. The money we get from the Kickstarter isn't going towards designing the game—we need money to fuel the expansion of the game and build its community. We want Dimension to be free forever, but we don't want to have to cut back on any of the incredible community elements that make TCGs fun.
Our greatest challenge is getting people to try something new. If you love this game, share it with your friends and family.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
