Art places voices in history. Just as Justin Bond carries Bambi Lake’s Golden Age of Hustlers to new ears at the legendary Joe’s Pub in NYC, so would this music video present the collective consciousness of V’s music .
The music video for Golden Age of Hustlers will mix performance from Justin Vivian Bond, live staged tableaus from local performance artists and still projections from San Franscisco's queer community in the 1980s.
The music video is a labor of love for all volunteer crew (Silas Howard and Erin Greenwell directing, PJ Raval as Director of Photography and Ethan Weinstock as producer) . Funds would pay for equipment, costumes (designed by the fabulous Machine Dazzle!) , set design and post production costs.
Please help us archive this time which now has been carried across decades; from Bambi Lake's poetry to JVB's music to our music video.

Risks and challenges
Both Silas Howard and Erin Greenwell have produced and directed multiple award winning micro-budget features and shorts over 10 years and in that time, have gathered a like minded community of artists, vendors and technicians to help see them through. But even with the perfect team there are always challenges and obstacles that pop up. A drive fails, a fuse blows, the car service dropped off the talent somewhere in New Jersey instead of the studio you've rented in Brooklyn. But the community we create is there to support each other through every unforeseen upset and setback.
We have reached a nexus point in our digital age where content and information are at our fingertips, so much so that it can overwhelm us and make it difficult to find those things that connect us to our history and that community that supports us. "The Golden Age of Hustlers" is an elegy to a moment in our history that is rapidly disappearing. One of the biggest risks you can take as an artist is to share those moments that are not only recall a time and place that no longer exist but a deep personal connection to that history, to expose the ways that those moments transfigured you into the person that you are today. Will it resonate with someone else? Will they see that history through your eyes and see the connections to their own? We want to make a piece that will not only be a look back into the past but a vision of a world where those people and places that we've lost can be celebrated and never forgotten.
