WingLights360 | Stop dangerous overtaking with a single tap
Cycle with peace of mind. Dragons’ Den winners CYCL return to Kickstarter with the latest evolution of turn signals for bicycles
This project will only be funded if it reaches its goal by Thu, October 11 2018 9:45 PM UTC +00:00.
WingLights Are Back!
To address the issue of dangerous overtaking, the CYCL team realised there was a need to constantly highlight cyclists’ position on the road.
After months of rigorous testing, we are back on Kickstarter with our latest contribution to cycling safety. Welcome WingLights360.
Attaching at the handlebar ends, WingLights360 encourage drivers to pass further from cyclists thanks to their permanent white/red position lights that turn into flashing orange turn signals with a single tap.
With 68% of non-cyclists (UK) believing it is too dangerous to cycle on the roads, cycling safety is a key issue now more than ever.
Whether your preferred route is cutting through urban traffic or down country lanes, the one thing that puts a brake on the enjoyment of the ride is a vehicle speeding past little more than an arm’s length away.
Whilst traditional front and back lights do the job of highlighting cyclists presence, they do not give an idea of the bike’s width, leaving drivers to estimate the rider's exact position and potentially leading to dangerous overtaking situations.
Pressing and holding their button activates WingLights360s permanent light function, with white (front) and red (back) LEDs highlighting the riders' dimensions.
With a single tap they transform into direction indicators, informing other road users of the cyclists' intentions thanks to flashing orange LEDs.
WingLights360 provide riders with the all-round visibility and encourage drivers to maintain a safe passing distance.
Quote by Family7 on Amazon: "I can tell you that if you own a bicycle or if you are a cyclist, especially at night, then you must get something like that.."
- Motor vehicle-style 'position' lights
The idea to use white (front) and red (back) lights at the end of the handlebars to communicate the bike's exact dimensions was borrowed from the concept of 'position lights' that exist to make motor vehicles more visible.
Fully sealed to create a resistance to water. The protective waterproof design has passed numerous tests from London's worst showers. IP67 rated.
Quote by Amazon customer: "Very well made. Have some weight to them - durable. Bright light at night."
No matter how many times you drop your bike (or throw your WingLights at your colleagues) the CNC aluminium construct will keep them in working order.
- USB Rechargeable
Since the first WingLights launched, we received requests for a USB rechargeable version. We heard you and WingLights360 will come with a micro USB cable capable of a full charge in under 30 minutes!
- Reliable battery life
Complete your daily commute without worrying about being stranded in the dark, each charge will provide 3 hours of visibility in continuous light mode (more whilst flashing!)
- Screw-in locking system
Quote from Amazon user: "They are pretty compact and very durable, and they have some weight to them. They are extremely easy to install too"
In order to keep your WingLights firmly in place no matter the terrain, we have added a screw-in locking system to reinforce the magnets attracting the WingLights to the handlebar mounters.
- Magnetic attachments
Our magnets are pretty strong (& versatile)
- Smart design
Slick, black and beautiful. WingLights360 are made from durable, high-quality materials. Transparent plastic lenses provide optimal light diffusion. Installation is simple and the carabiner clip allows for easy removal.
Quote from Amazon user: "They have a rubber tube that goes over a bolt on and as you tighten the nut, the rubber expands in width until you get the right fit for your handlebars"

Timeline to Delivery:
But who is behind this cycling tech success?
Agostino and Luca arrived in London in 2013 as keen commuter cyclists from Florence, Italy. Concerned by the lack of cyclist safety on London roads, they sought out solutions to improve visibility whilst cycling.
Unsatisfied by current market offers, they combined Agostino’s engineering background from a PhD in Robotics and Luca’s entrepreneurship background from an MSc in Innovation to found CYCL and began designing the first WingLights model.
4 new members have since joined the CYCL team, contributing their expertise in advertising, sales and product development towards the goal of improving cycling safety for all.
Been there. Done that.
Since launching here in 2015, WingLights have gone from strength to strength, winning the CosmoBike Tech Award, receiving investment on the BBC’s Dragons’ Den and being showcased on the “Future of Transport” day at the International Business Festival.
Over the past 3 years, we have developed our design capabilities, improved our knowledge of manufacturing realities and identified new distribution channels to design and bring to market the best in cycling safety technology.
More Than Just Bike Lights!
