First gameplay video!

This is the moment you've all been waiting for: we're finally ready to show you some proper racing action on a dirt track! Here we are testing with a powerful rear-wheel drive car how our handling works on gravel, and we're glad to let you know that it feels SUPERB!

Thanks to our great physics, you really get the full white-knuckle racing experience with Next Car Game, if that's what you prefer. On the other hand, if you're a budding race car driver, you can still enjoy the game (and remain competitive!) by enabling a selection of driving aids.

Please note that the game is still very much work-in-progress, and what you see is not representative of the final quality. For example the track has not been properly decorated yet, and there's a lot of additional polish that's going to be done on it. Also, the player car damage has been disabled for the demonstration purposes.

Check out the video and let us know what you think!

As you know, we still have a plenty of distance to cover if we're going to succeed with our Kickstarter campaign, but you can help us meet our goal. Now it's time for the racing game fans to unite and show us that you want a game like Next Car Game! Our team is having great fun playing the game, and we feel that no other game can match the amazing racing experience offered by Next Car Game. We can't wait to share it with you!

As a bonus, here's a few new screenshots from the same track:

Some people didnt read the description, look here:
"(...)Also, the player car damage has been disabled for the demonstration purposes.(...)"

The damage on the player car was disabled, that's why no damage on the bonnet

I meant will the player care suffer damage at a lesser rate, or will all cars suffer damage at the same rate.

The game looks awesome, but im a bit surprised with a few of those crashes the bonnet isn't even slightly popped or dented. Will all cars damage the same in solo racing, or will all cars suffer damage at the same rate. Maybe have the scaling on the difficulty?

As others have mentioned the invisible walls so close to the edge of the racetrack is a bit odd, at least give us a chance to.... spin out and spear back onto the track backwards causing EPIC crashes. Wait, is that what I meant.....

Great update! I'll be upping my pledge. My pledge will get upped again if (when?) you guys show more details about the Street Rod-esque upgrading!

      Looks great! Few questsions....

      1. Are you using the clutch pedal as a clutch or a brake?
      2. Are there invisible walls outside the track that you run into? Would be amazing if you could continue to slide outside the track and just free roam at least a little before you hit an invisible barrier. I understand technical limitations, but maybe allow a player to go a certain point and then return them to the track ala Dirt? I never liked how in Gran Turismo (even though its amazing) you would just run into this indestructible wood fence or invisible wall on some tracks.
      3. Understanding that I am looking at alpha footage, is the damage going to be more procedural that what it looks like now? It seems to be canned in some instances and damage sort of "pops" in kind of like a LOD on a character in the distance on fps games.

Keep it up! I hope this gets funded!

Michael, certainly not. We're also optimizing the gameplay for gamepad and keyboard.

In order to play on the PC will we have to have steering wheel/pedal setup? I am sort of new to any kind of racing games and won't be able to afford a separate racing setup to play driving style games for a long while.

Thanks all, glad you're liking! It took us some time to get the video up because we really wanted to make a good first impression, hopefully you can get at least some idea of how brutal our kind of racing is. We're really happy about how the racing aspect of the game is shaping up, there's a LOT of action and the driving physics are simply second to none.

The player car damage was indeed disabled for the video. By default the player car takes as much as damage as the other cars, but it's of course something that we can tune to our (or should we say, your!) liking. With more rapid damage, you certainly couldn't plough through the ranks of opponents like shown in the video.
