I'm a half-Swiss and half-Minnesotan singer songwriter now based in Los Angeles, I have fully recorded a 6 song EP with some of the most talented musicians in LA. I invested in high sound quality during the recording process and with your help I would like to continue that level of quality in the Mix & Master (sound editing).
The backers of this EP-album project will get the best version of this quality of sound possible... Listen to this demo version for a sample.
The album is named after one of it's songs - "Beautiful Angel". I wrote the song as a dedication to my Godmother and aunt, Monica, she inspired me to live my free spirit. In memory of her I will donate one hardcopy of this EP for every $100 raised in this campaign to The Alliance of Hope - a place where suicide survivors can find love, understanding and healing. It's a 501(c)3 charitable nonprofit, that provides healing support for people who have lost loved ones to suicide and is a 2016 Top Rated Non-Profit by GreatNonProfits.org
This is a topic that is effects our entire world, but is still being treated as a taboo in our society. I hope that this Kickstarter encourages you to talk with your family this Thanksgiving.

I am a Swiss-Minnesotan singer songwriter who moved halfway around the world to pursue my dream of creating music in the heart of Los Angeles, California. Growing up I spent my school year in Switzerland and my summers in Minnesota. Belonging to two different countries that are alike, and yet very different, made me realize at a very young age, that music is the one language we all speak. No matter where we're from, what religion or country we were raised in, we can all connect to each other with music. That's when I decided I was going to be a musician and Singer-Songwriter. At the age of 11, I started to write my own songs and have been doing so ever since.
Now, I’m at the point where I get to share my own music with all of you. I have picked 6 Songs – each one of them different. Some will make you smile and others will bring tears to your eyes. Now they're all on one EP! My producer and I got together with a sound engineer and a crazy talented bunch of musicians and started recording – we haven’t stopped since. We have already recorded all the lead vocals, all the background vocals and we are almost done with all of the instruments (7 out of 8). We're about 95% finished with recording the EP, see the in-action photos below.
You might wonder, why I then started a Kickstarter? I am a firm believer of doing-it-yourself, but I have come to learn that I can only carry this thing so far. I am asking you to help me bring it to the finish line! I want to get my songs into your homes and hearts sounding as great as they can. This EP-record has been recorded with such a high quality, that it would be a crime to not also have the same level of quality for the sound editing (Mix & Master). We also want to promote this album so music lovers discover that amazing independent music is out there and I need your help to make this music happen!
Two years ago this Christmas, my aunt decided to leave this world on her own terms. Her passing was a huge shock to me and I didn't know how to handle it. Time passes by and life goes on, but I continued to struggle with my emotions. I wasn't able to express myself in words, so I turned to music. It was the one place where I could express all my emotions without judgment. With time and after many revisions, the song "Beautiful Angel" came to be. Working on this song helped me cope and sort through the turmoil of my thoughts and emotions surrounding my aunt's passing. Step by step I was able to forgive. Even though I couldn't understand her choice, I could respect it and let go of my anger, grief, and pain.
This record is in memory of my Godmother and with that in mind I will donate one hardcopy of my album "Beautiful Angel" for ever $100 we raise in this campaign to Alliance of Hope. That means one hundred families that have survived the loss of a loved one to suicide will receive this album in hopes it will help them heal as I have.http://www.allianceofhope.org
We have come so far already! This team of talent is what made it all possible! My mentor, producer, and personal background vocalist on this record, Kacee Clanton, has an ear for music like nobody I've ever met. She always has my back and makes sure I and this record sound at its best. The fast and talented Frank Rosato, and his wonderful Woodcliff Studio that has become somewhat of my second home these days, are also part of the team.
A big thanks goes to the musicians that have played on and invested into this record. If you want to check them out and see their other projects I highly recommend checking them out on their websites & Google. Andrew Synowiec on guitar, Michael Mennell on bass, Bobby Breton on drums, John Gentry Tennyson on keys, Peter Olstad on trumpet andlast but not least, we also have Eric Gorfain on some (rock) violin!
How Prince gave me new inspiration
A while back I was visiting my American side of the family in Minnesota and I went to see the Prince studio, Paisley Park. WOW!
His studio had the greatest vibe and made me want to get behind the microphone and record some vocals and truly focus on my music. His collection of pianos was definitely something that I aspire to having one day, his costumes not so much. I mean, that beautiful man sometimes performed in higher heels than I could wear - AND he pulled it off stunningly.
However, what stayed with me the most was the fence they put in the museum. The fence where people came to mourn and pay their respects to one of the greatest artists ever known. Reading the personal notes and the fan-art gave me goosebumps. I was inspired by how Prince was able to touch people with his music. Prince once said that he was a vessel and the music came through him and he just had to listen to know where it would take him.
It was that statement that I engraved into my heart. I am only the vessel, and that the music flows through me and has it's own message, sometimes even a cause. I believe that "Beautiful Angel" is this type of music and needs to be shared.

WHY DO A KICKSTARTER:
This is my first EP! There's this thing about firsts! We all want our "firsts" to be more than average. We want it to be great, if not extraordinary! So far it has been working out and now it is in your hands! I started out solo - let's finish this TOGETHER!
WHY $10,000 AND WHERE WILL MY MONEY GO?
I tried creating a little pie chart to explain it best. 70% of the production is already paid for out of my own pocket, that's the red/orange part making up the majority of the expenses. I have already paid all the Musicians, producer, and a sound engineer have all invested their time and talent and did a wonderful job. Now I'm asking for your help to finish the remaining work including sound editing (Mix & Master), manufacturing of CD's, and copywriting the lyrics and music.
I'd also like to promote the album, because this music has a message that is meant to be shared with many, this music has a cause that is greater than me. However to get this music into the hearts, minds and ears of people it helps to have some promotion. Additionally, Kickstarter/Payment-processing takes about 9% of funds raised.
I made a simple pie chart to demonstrate how funds will be spent below.
Stretch Goal #1: $25,000 USD: I will organize a tour with my Band. We will visit multiple cities throughout the USA and do a 5 city tour in Switzerland. This would cover travel and logging in both countries. And all my backers will get VIP entry for them and one other friend!
Stretch Goal #2: $20,000 USD:
If we get this far I would like to create a High Quality music video and I’ll throw a big album release party in Los Angeles. We'll have a concert with all 8 musicians from the records and a bunch of swag! You, of course, are all invited and all backers that attend will get free entry.
Stretch Goal #3: $ 15,000 USD:
If we reach this stretch goal, I will record two (if not three) acoustic songs to the record so there are more stories to listen to and share with.
Risks and challenges
Life is full of risks - this project isn't one of them.
We have already recorded most of the tracks and we are using Kickstarter funds primarily for Mix and Master of the records (Sound Editing).
We're almost finished with one of the most beautiful records I have ever heard and with your help, we will make it to the finish line together and you'll get to share this beautiful music with your loved ones.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
