Are you happy with your current period management? Looking for an alternative to pads, tampons or cups that is easy to use, comfortable, discreet and zero waste?
We have the solution! Be part of the I am Eva revolution!
After months of research, design and testing we have developed a pair of period proof underwear that we believe is going to change the way all teenagers and women manage their periods forever.
How do they work?
I am Eva period proof underwear look and feel just like your normal underwear.
The outer most layer provides a leak resistant barrier to prevent any messy and embarrassing situations. The super absorbent layer is made from sustainable bamboo fibres. Using the latest technology anti-microbial fabrics fight bacteria preventing unwanted odours and the layer closest to your skin draws moisture away fast, ensuring you remain dry all day
Our underwear has been rigorously tested and can hold up to two regular tampons worth of your flow. Not only are they designed for managing your period, they can also be used for managing minor bladder weakness.
Depending on your flow you may be able to wear I am Eva instead of traditional period products, or for those with a heavy flow you may choose to wear I am Eva as a back-up to your tampon or cup.
Why you'll love I am Eva Period Proof Underwear:
Comfortable and feminine: they look and feel just like your normal underwear. Never again will you have to worry about bulky pads getting out of place or bunched up.
They take the worry out of your day: There is nothing worse than worrying about leaking when you have your period. The super absorbent layer and leak proof barrier mean you can get on with your day with confidence.
Sustainable and zero waste: Be part of the solution and help reduce the massive number of single use menstrual products ending up in landfills (over 350 million in New Zealand every year!)
Easy to wash: Simply rinse, then wash on a cold cycle with your normal clothes. Line dry.
Helping others in need: part of our ethos is to help eradicate period poverty in New Zealand. We will be exploring ways to help address this issue if we are lucky enough to reach our funding target and get this business over the start line.
Giving you a choice: Until now there has been a limited number of reusable menstrual products available to us wahine. I AM EVA offer you a modern, feminine option, fit for the 21st century, that allows you to shed your period naturally and not hold it inside.
I am Eva underwear is made true to size so your best bet is to use our size chart below and consider the size of underwear you currently wear. To ensure the leak proof technology does its job our underwear fits slight more snug than your regular underwear.

Taking care of your period proof underwear could not be easier
At I AM EVA our vision is to provide women of all shapes, sizes and cultures with an innovative, sustainable product to effectively manage their periods. We want to empower women to feel feminine and confident 365 days of the year, by providing affordable, convenient, easy to use menstrual products, which require no extra effort to use.
Plastic waste and chemicals
Pads and tampons contain non-biodegradable materials such as polyethylene, polyester and polypropylene and are one of the top 5 plastic pollutants in our oceans. On average a woman will use over 10,000 pads or tampons over the course of their menstruating life. In New Zealand 25 million+ single use sanitary products end up in landfill every month. This is a staggering 356 million+ per year! These products take hundreds of years to break down so the pile just keeps getting bigger.
Many pads and tampons have been chlorine bleached and the cotton sprayed with a pesticide residue, some of which have been linked to cancer. Given that our vaginas are a mucus membrane, meaning they are super absorbent, it doesn't make sense to put our health and well-being at risk once a month, every month.
Our reusable period proof underwear can help reduce these horrific statistics and provide you with a safe, sustainable alternative to managing your period.
Period poverty in New Zealand
We often hear about the struggles of women in developing countries unable to afford sanitary products, and who are faced with using rags or newspaper to control their flow each month. Did you know that this is happening in our own back yard? Every day thoughout New Zealand girls and women are forced to stay home from school and work because they too can not afford sanitary products.
We believe that all girls and women have a RIGHT to participate in society everyday of the year. This is a basic human need and we want ALL girls and women to be able to get on with their day with dignity and confidence. If we successfully reach our funding target, and get our business up and running, we are going to explore ways we can help address this issue.
We need YOUR help to get I am Eva to our shores!
