- Final Notes
It's been another productive month here at E.o.E.Games. We've been so overwhelmed by the positive response our battle system reveal garnered. In today's update, we plan on showing off a few of the character and enemy animations so that you can see the kind of quality and style we will be presenting in game, along with screenshots of both old and never before seen areas!
New Areas Revealed!: Illia Pass and Rein.
We are excited to show off two new areas in the World of Rivera (Along with new tilesets!) We will steadily be revealing new areas in the coming updates as well. Up first is Illia Pass.
Illia Pass is a dangerous mountain route that leads to the village Illia on it's summit. Players will have to navigate treacherous mountain paths and dark caves in order to accomplish this. Illia Pass is one of the earliest dungeons in the game.
Rein is the first major city you will reach. Major story scenes happen here and it is a great area to learn about the history of Rivera and the Eternal Maidens. Rein was once a small and relatively un-important city until recently. Players will be able to see new buildings being constructed and general expansion happening within the city.
Battle System Animations: Characters and Enemies
We have been blessed to work with the extremely talented Sprite Animator, Thomas Frose. The animations that have been completed so far have exceeded our expectations and have made us very excited to put it all together. Below are a few example animations from the main cast and various enemies. Depending on your screen resolution, you may need to zoom in up to 200/300% to view it's in game size. (PS: If anyone knows how to post GIF's directly to Kickstarter, it would be great if you could tell us!)
Additional Screen Shots and Arwork:
Production of our Battle System Battlegrounds is going very we would like to reveal two new areas for battle. Both of these battlegrounds (along with the ones previously shown) feature foreground elements that will go over the character and enemy sprites to enhance their immersion into the game world.
Our update this week was aimed at showing off screenshots and new artwork rather than new information.
We want to assure you that development is going very well despite us taking longer than our initial due date. We want to stress that the due date of May 2013 was an estimation for EoE if it was still developed with RPG Maker. The advances we made to EoE's game engine, graphics, music, etc, have definitely added to the development time.
That being said, you WILL see our battle system in action in our next update. In game footage will also be coming shortly after that. We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding for us needing more time, it will be used to create the game that you all deserve.
