YAY! You guys! This morning we passed the minimum goal! EFF YEAH!
I'll be posting another more wonderful video update (plus song previews?) in a few, but I just have to say thank you for believing in this project, this record, me.
In the meantime, we still have 16 whole days! Any additional money we raise will go toward touring, printing more CDs, and making more merch. I'll be adding some new fun rewards.
If you'd like to help out, share this Kickstarter on your facebook/tumblr/twitter/socialnetworkinnetworkz, get the word out about this ~*new record*~ and whatnot!
DID I TELL YOU I LOVE YOU?
A million o's and x's - Cara
I've been writing and releasing music under my own name, Cara Salimando, as a solo artist for several years. What I've always wanted to do is front a band I really loved. At 21, I've finally formed the band I've always hoped to be in, Novelette. We started recording a record in July of 2012 in Denver, CO and finished the record in Brooklyn, NY this April.
Now the record is done, but before it can be released, I've got to pay for studio time, the mixing, the mastering, the printing, and the promotion of this record. This is the first full length record I'll ever put out and I want to do it right. I want to put it in your hands and I want to tour it to the ends of the earth.
I moved home, and I'm working and saving money, but this whole ordeal costs quite a bit. I've chosen not to shop my record to a label to help me with this release because I've been tangled up in bad deals before and had my *actual* first record put on hold. Music shouldn't come with all those complications. It should be between the creator and the listener, and that's it. I'm asking you to be my label.
Whether you've been following me from my hometown show days when I was 13 or my more recent tours as an 18, 19, 20, or 21 year old, thank you for your support. I really believe in this band and this record, I'm my own worst critic and even I know that this record is awesome. Thank you again and I can't wait to share it with you.
Risks and challenges
The album is mixed. The album is mastered. Now it's time to pay some people and release this. We start manufacturing CDs and the other merch early August. Plan is to ship everything out in September. This process could possibly be delayed if there is a great volume of supporters as some of the prizes will be hand made by me, and CDs may not come exactly when expected. With your support and patience, we can make this happen. Cross your fingers for no setbacks. It's taken a year to get to this point. Let's make it happen as quickly as possible. I'm ready, you're ready, let's go.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
