THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
Hi I'm Tara Rynders and You & Me has been invited to perform in 5 European cities this Fall and we need your help to get there! We are so so excited! We are honored to be able to come together as a group of national and international artists and spend 6 weeks together creating You & Me around the world. Thank you, thank you for your support!! We can only go if we make our goal of $10,000 and only pay our artists if we surpass our goal. We need a total of $15,000 to make this a reality. So please know we truly understand how HUGE it is for you to support us and we are forever grateful!
WHAT IS YOU & ME?
You & me is a site-specific, interactive, 3–hour durational performance that is created specifically for guests of the community it is honoring. We open the show with a dance performance exploring the city and varying landscapes. The guests are then taken to "one on one" performances where each performer creates an installation for one guest at a time. These intimate interactions are the heart of You & Me. Finally we share a family style dinner on one long picnic table that later becomes our stage where the artists invite the guests to dance as we conclude the evening. You & me was first performed in my home in Denver, CO and has since toured nationally to San Francisco, CA, Reno, NV, Missoula, MT, and Earthdance Plainfield, MA.
You & Me Europe is comprised of a group of national and international artists:
-Tara Rynders, Denver, CO
-Tim Rynders, Denver, CO
-Mollie Wolf, Denver, CO
-Mariel Berger, New York City, NY
-Jadd Tank, Beirut, Lebanon

WHERE ARE WE PERFORMING?
We are coming together in hopes to cross borders and cultural differences utilizing art, music, and dance. To do this we will collaborate with local artists in each country and together create You & Me in the following locations:
*Iceland 9/29-10/13 we will begin our journey in Iceland performing in two locations, in a barn in the countryside and in a home in the heart of Reykjavik. *Finland 10/13 -10/27 we will perform in the Arabia factory in the heart of downtown Helsinki and a villa in the countryside. *Germany 10/27 - 11/3 we will be creating an out-of-the-theatre and into-the-streets performance in Freiburg, Germany, ending at a local restaurant for our family style dinner. *Ireland 11/3-11/10 we have been invited to take part of the If Only Festival in Birr, Ireland creating You & Me with local artists, dancers, and musicians. *Austria 11/10-11/17 we have been invited to participate in Semriach's Fall Culture Days representing different countries through performance and art as You & Me Austria
WHERE WILL YOUR MONEY BE GOING?
All funds received through this campaign will pay for the tour directly, in the form of flights and lodging. Anything above the asking amount will go toward our food and payment for all the artists.
PAST GUESTS RESPONSES TO YOU & ME. . .
****I wanted to write and thank you for such an inspirational experience this past weekend. Your performance evoked emotion, discussion, and an overall sense of sharing and intimacy (goal attained!). Having never been a part of anything like that before, I'm extremely thankful to you. I loved the flow and feel of the performances, the well thought-out installations, and the warmth emanating from all of the performers, and as a result, everyone present. When you performed your last dance, I specifically thought - thank goodness for people like Tara.
Still feeling warm and loved,
J.W.
PS - Thank you for the CD! I love the music on it...
****Tara,
The show tonight was amazing. spectacular, thought provoking, warm and engaging.

****Dear Tara,
I wanted to thank you for the rich, sensory experience that you provided for us last night. It was thought provoking and delightful in so many ways. I will keep with me the image of four women running in the distance, arms linked, white skirts flying. I was delighted by the table dance, and loved the moments when you leaned into the arms of your audience/guests seated around the table. After sharing private moments with each of the "performers," I experienced dinner in silence as a welcome opportunity to be with myself in the company of others. And I'm not sure whether it was intended or not, but before we left for home, we were treated to the image of you and Tim dancing together, made visible through the lighted window of your home. You are a kind and generous human being, Tara. Thank you for inviting us into your home.
Love, T.H.
****It was an extraordinary event - so full, varied, elegantly, knowingly structured and intensely moving.Great work - you are a wonder-being and have a great future.Image after image keeps coming back. Take care, much love and deep gratitude.

****Thank you Tara, Last night was an incredibly memorable experience. I attend a lot of dance and this event was one of the most exciting, stimulating and meaningful I've experienced. Thank you for coming to Missoula. The entire experience was thoughtfully organized and executed.

****Thank you so much for the delicacy of thought and intention that went in to the crafting of your work. Very smart, and simple too, and apparent in its purpose. Very of now.....local, sustainable, accessible, participatory....yet not common, or predictable. Thorough, and, and, and, layered, an effect that was and important weaving together of the pieces....so metaphorically satisfying to have the evolving smells of dinner cooking in the house as we moved from one little experience to another.Being "cooked" ourselves in some way.A real alchemy of experience. Congratulations.

****I was simply floored. I was blown away by the enormity of the production. My hat will always be off to you for what you did and what you do. I was simply beyond words for the entire night. L.C. and I had plans on going out afterwards, but post-1606 wolff we both called it quits. We were fulfilled. What you did was something that really touched both of us. Personally, I felt something like I never have before with other artists - an intimate dedication to making one feel comfortable but challenged. Comfortable but challenged. Isn't that what it is all about? R.R. and I had a chat today that we were without tongues after what happened at your house. You should be forever proud and joyous of what you were able to make a gabacho from Sheridan and Evans feel. Just pure felice through my body and mind and HEART. thank you. thank you thank you for having us over last Saturday. I am still dumbfounded on my experience: in the best way imaginable. You and the other performers were just so down to hang out. HANG OUT. I felt so safe, but yet in extreme danger of taking on new things. That is all I could have ever wanted.

Risks and challenges
Oh the risks and challenges!!! Yes I think the risks and challenges that we will face will be most evident in the time sensitivity of creating and performing in less than two weeks in each city. There is only so much we can do before we arrive and this is why it has been so great to have local contacts set up in each country prior to our arrival. I am excited about this challenge because I believe it opens up opportunities to improvise in the moment and create beautiful experiences that maybe couldn't have been created if we had everything all planned out. Furthermore this time sensitivity has become an integral part of the structure of You & Me, as we have toured nationally spending only one week at a time in each city.
Our last and final challenge we face is making sure we pay the artists the proper amount that they are worth and any money that we receive above our goal will make this a reality.
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
Again thank you, thank you for your time, consideration, and offering to You & Me. You & Me has truly been a gift to me as I have learned so much from each performer and each guest at every show. I hope to offer this gift to others and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for making it happen!
xoxo
Love,
Tara
