About this project
"The Story Of Inc" is a scifi story that centers around a man and his robot trying to survive on an almost waterless desert planet. Their lives get turned upside down when they come across a giant alien artifact that provides plentiful water, and a society that's built a settlement nearby who are not interested in sharing the resource.
The book project has 3 parts, Part 1 is an illustrated novel, which tells the story in the form of a journal with paintings of all the key moments in the story. Part 2 is the World of Inc, which shows off all the main characters, environments, vehicles and aliens of the story in the same format as any art of book. Part 3 is online, pages of tutorials showing how much of the artwork in the book was made, including over 2 hours of video tutorials. The 168 page book contains well over 200 paintings, sketches, and 3d renders.
The Inc Project started in 2012 as the brainchild of artist Neil Blevins and artist/writer Bill Zahn as an after hours passion project. Writer Stephan Bugaj came aboard shortly after to help develop the story, and so the core group was formed. After the basics were written, a spectacular art team was assembled, veterans of the vfx, animated film and videogame industry.
The Kickstarter Campaign
All the art is done, the writing is done, the book has been laid out, the only remaining tasks to do are to print the book and distribute it. And that's where you guys come in.
When you print a book, you pay an amount per book. The more books you print, the less you have to pay per book. And its not like a small discount, it's a huge deal. If you print 1000 books instead of 50 books, the difference in price per book can be 5 times cheaper.
We need to sell a minimum of 1000 copies of the book to make the math work, and get the price of the book down to the $20 sale price. We have already chosen our printing company, and have set up our distribution network, all we need now is the money to let us pull the lever, get the book printed and release Inc to the public. And we hope you will be a part of this goal!
Shipping Date Goal: Nov / Dec 2017, we will do everything in our power to get it to you by the holidays
The book will come in Regular and Premium Editions, both will have the same content, the Premium Edition will have a Faux cloth cover with Gold Foil Emblem and a fine art print (Cover below is a test, final cover may vary slightly)
Here's a peak inside the book...
The Inc Team
The Inc team consists of twelve professional artists and writers, which includes current and former employees of some of the biggest names in film and videogames: Blur Studio, Industrial Light & Magic, Pixar, Tippett, 343 Industries, Id Software, Blizzard, and many others.
Neil Blevins (Director / Production Designer / Story / Concept Art) Neil Blevins started off painting and drawing traditionally, and then got into 3d graphics while still living in his home country of Canada. After getting a BFA in Design Art, he moved to Los Angeles where he worked for Blur Studio. He now lives in San Francisco and has worked in the Animated film industry for the last 15 years. In his spare time, he makes sci-fi 3d/2d hybrid artwork, author tools and writes art related lessons and tutorials for his website. http://www.neilblevins.com
Bill Zahn (Concept Art / Story / Writer) Bill Zahn was a kid obsessed with movies. At the age of nineteen, he packed his bags and with sixty bucks to his name, moved to Los Angeles to chase his dream. He quickly made his way into the world of live action creature and make-up effects, working on projects like Men in Black, Godzilla and the Budweiser Frogs. After successfully working ten years in LA, he made the transition to the digital world, working for studios such as Industrial Light & Magic and Tippet Studios, and currently works in the Animated film industry. For the past six years, he has rekindled his passion for writing and has several projects in development. http://www.billzahn.com
Stephan Bugaj (Story / Writer) Stephan Bugaj started screenwriting professionally in animated films, having transitioned from a decade of working as a technical artist to co-creating two development projects. He subsequently left the studio to head-up all writing and directing for Telltale Games. He then headed to Los Angeles where he works as Creative Director for Hanson Robotics and as a film, games and virtual reality writer-director working with WakingUp Media, Visioneer Studios, Marza Animation Planet, Digital Quilt, Limitless VR and many others. http://www.bugaj.com

For every $2500 raised, we will publicly release a new image from the book.
For the halfway mark, we will release an Inc related video tutorial, discussing how we made some of the artwork for the book.
If we fully fund, we'll release the first chapter of the book in low-res pdf form for all to read.
More stretch goals to come after funding goal is reached!
Shipping worldwide of the book and most other rewards will be handled by Amazon Fulfillment. This has a number of advantages. First off, no one has more experience than Amazon on shipping a product. Second, because they ship so many goods, their shipping price to you will be the cheapest available. Shipping is collected at the same time as the pledge. Books will be securely shipped to avoid any damage.

Risks and challenges
The good news is that many of the hardest parts (and most time consuming parts) of the project are done. Over 500 images have been created for this project. The story has been written, edited and proofread. The book has been assembled, laid out, and made into printable form.
So the two remaining challenges are to make sure the printing process looks good and runs smoothly, and the books are shipped successfully into your hands.
Thankfully, the print company we have chosen has a tremendous amount of experience, and we will work with them very carefully to produce the highest quality book possible.
And it would be hard to find a company with more experience at successfully shipping a product than Amazon's network.
If we fund, we will keep you updated at every step of the way, from printing to the packages in the mail, so you will never be in the dark about what's going on.
After getting the book to this point, we feel we are up for any challenge that comes our way.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
