Yes, I am open to votes. :) We currently have 1 for 'extra lives' and 1 for dramatic 'permadeath' to enhance tension and make the final victory that much sweeter!
I am pretty sure though that when things are a bit more fleshed out, some solid play-testing will give us the correct answer. It's too early to tell now and either one of us could be incorrect. My best guess is that newish players will prefer extra lives and experienced players will prefer permadeath. So perhaps we should have both. Regular Mode and Hard Core.
The next update has the campaign disabled. You shouldn't be in there.. lol..
I expect the next build to be passed today since it was in review from yesterday. But you can never tell with Apple.
If there is a vote to be held over the "three lives" thing, mine is a yes!
Im all for giving people options; maybe have the Duchess charge a high price for her protection each battle?
Couldve used it in the last campaign I played. I was able to gather up a full-sized army after two scouting missions through a pernicious use of conscript-capturing. In the next battle, a skirmish, I thought Id send Cromwell out to capture an undefended conscript canon. Turns out it was decended...
I want the solo campaign, I really really want the solo campaign. /Goes and looks at bank account and contemplates bumping pledge to the next level./
Thanks David. This is the basic design of the campaign. I remember that you mentioned some concern about ending the entire campaign ending upon the sudden loss of Cromwell. I am not 100% set on this, but it's where I am leaning at the moment. I would like to know if others would prefer say '3 lives' where the Duchess saves you ass a couple times with say some undercover Royalists. Or we could soften it up quite a bit by removing the 3 lives limit as it will still be a battle loss that hurts your resources. But that would remove a lot of the tension..
Sounds extremely exciting indeed!
