Jungle Goblin progress!

Another jungle goblin has been sculpted. Part of your free goblins that will ship with your order if you  pledged $25 or more. And just a reminder, the paypal shop is still open until the end of the month!

I normally don't depart from concepts, but as I was sculpting this creature I started to think, he's just not weird enough. A centaur like spider/goblin just isn't that interesting. I redid the legs twice. I'm happy with the result and I think you will be too. He's more of a mutant that could resemble a spider, rather than a goblin with spider parts, and he gives me warm fuzzy creepy feelings. ENJOY!

Here's a video, You may want to turn the audio down, because when I listen to Slayer, I like my ears to feel it.

nice work Jody! and glad yo followed your instinct on this one, i liked the original idea but I think that the concept for this guy was the only one where I wasn't fully convinced... but with this sculpt you nailed it.

The more I look at him the more I want several variations of him - Maybe one raised up like a funnel web spider!

Thanks for the WIPs, awesome to see the process! And I gather departures from concept have burned you before? I think it's great, personally, neat to see things change and improve and people should realize that it's better to give an artist room to be creative and make something that works (my wife works with a modelling company, and I've been learning something of the many complications and requirements that go into a figure just to make sure it can be produced without errors)

I love the cat! I wanted to get the cat burglar goblin figure so badly but there were too many other figures that took priority and not enough cash...

Yeah, use your instinct on the the next minis. Make 'em scarier!

Nice, sure looks like a creepy little creature! Is that a cocooned animal of some sort on its back or an spider-nest?

    17. CashWiley on January 18, 2013

Yeah, man. That thing is sick! Total wtf ftw.

I caught Slayer on the Mayhem tour last year, I seem to catch them about once every ten years. Always brutal no matter if it's a bar or ampitheater. Kerry King's leads taught me how to play lead guitar; if you mess up, just play louder and faster!
