Dr. Eric Lui, veterinarian and inventor of The Doggie Lift, has worked as a small animal veterinarian for the last four years. As a veterinarian, he has dealt with a lot of pets and their owners. One question that pet owners ask is, “How can I easily cut my dog's nails?” Not only did he get asked this a lot, he also asked himself this question.
Dr. Lui has Shorty, a 55 lbs, Rhodesian Ridgeback mix, that hates having her nails cut. Every month, a wrestling match would occur with Shorty to cut her nails. After what seemed to be the 100th wrestling match, a revelation came to him and the Doggie Lift was invented.
The Doggie Lift requires only a standard door frame in your home. The pet is placed in a special lifting harness. Two suspension ropes safely and comfortably suspend your pet from the ground.
By taking away the floor, the dog has nothing to push off from and brings new meaning to home care for pets and will help you with toenail trims, ear cleanings, injections, grooming, brushing teeth, and anything else the owner may deem necessary to keep their loved ones healthy.
Finally!! A way to cut your dog's nails!!
***Don't think your dog will do well on the Lift? ****
Well, Dr. Lui took the Doggie Lift to a pet expo and had great results!
He tested it out on ~100 dogs and he was able to cut 95% of them. It is definitely worth a try! You can do it!
The funding that we will receive from this project will go into meeting the quota set by the manufacturer. This will also allow us to attend multiple pet expos and be able to give pet owners the ability to treat their dogs at home! You can finally cut your dog's nails at home!
Risks and challenges
Our steel harness manufacturer have already been contacted about this project. We just need to know how many to get!! If there is a big demand, I will be willing to jump in, help weld, and assemble. This will allow us to try to increase production rate. This may cause some delay!
Since safety is our #1 priority, the design of the harness and/or the metal frame may change. The funds will allow us to find the safest way to "Lift" your dog. The final product you receive may not appear like the one shown. However, a lot of research has gone into this design!
If there are any delays or issues, I will make sure we keep an open line until it is resolved!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
