About this project
Tanks for Nothin' is my final animated short film from California State University, Northridge's Animation program. It's a funny little story about a 1950's American tomboy named Lucy and her spoiled older brother. With her vivid imagination, Lucy lives vicariously through her older brother's awesome Christmas gifts. Things take a turn when she receives her own lackluster gifts. Tanks for Nothin' is a great little cartoon with a retro aesthetic and classic art direction.
I spent a year developing and animating the story. It also has a great musical score composed by Travis Ragle and Joe Cisneros. All that my short film needs now is a great Sound Designer. Sound design is often undervalued, however, a good Sound Designer can mark the difference between the success or failure of an animated film. The sound effects often have a greater impact on the audience's response than the visuals.
I've been approached by a talented Sound Designer who created the sound design for an Academy Award winning short film. In order to have this amazing artist collaborate with me on Tanks for Nothin', we need to raise the funds for the sound studio/overhead. Being a student film, Tanks for Nothin' has no production budget. So I really need contributors to help me add this last and vital ingredient to my film.
I invite all animation lovers to contribute to this awesome project. I've poured my heart and soul into this short film and tenderly crafted every last frame. Help me take it the last leg of the journey.
