This project involves the recording of five of my recently composed orchestral works. The works will be recorded in St. Petersburg, Russia at Meloydia recording studios—the same studio where Shostakovich recorded many of his symphonies—in late December, 2013 with the St. Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Russian/American conductor Vladimir Lande. Two of these works will be premiered in St. Petersburg to an audience of over 3500 people on December 29, 2013. For an example of the quality of work delivered by Maestro Lande and the St. Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra please check out this Naxos release of Weinberg Symphony No. 6. This group's recording of American composer Sean Hickey's Concertos album released on Delos was recently nominated for a grammy award.
This project has the full support of the conductor and orchestra who provide the following statement:
"The orchestra and I are excited to premiere and record these new Doerrfeld works in St. Petersburg, Russia. I am confident that with a high quality performance and recording this compelling music will receive wide recognition." – Vladimir Lande, Naxos Recording Artist and Conductor of the St. Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra

I’m looking for financial assistance to help realize this project. The budget is $30,000 and I need to raise at least $12,000 via this Kickstarter fund-raising campaign. Donors who contribute $500 or more will be mentioned in the premiere performance program and those contributing $1000 or more will receive an autographed souvenir poster advertising the premiere performance.
I believe this music represents an important contribution to new classical orchestral music and with your financial support we together can continue the tradition of great orchestral music.
Thanks so much for your support.
Risks and challenges
One challenge will be securing a major classical music record label to distribute an album based on the master created from this project. To overcome this challenge I will be relying on the creation of a high quality master and will utilize my industry contacts to secure placement with a quality label.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
