For almost four years, I've been driving people around Portland, Oregon. I've had about 10,000 people in my minivan since I've started working. I'll often come home and tell my wife or a friend about whatever the craziest ride I had that day. Whenever I'd do this, I'd be told, "you need to write this stuff down." After a while, I did.
I started with a few blog posts, and eventually I took some time and started to document the most memorable rides. This book is the product of that. We talk to strippers, marines, athletes, hobos, and at least one person who was literally headed to jail. Some of the stories are funny, a few are heartbreaking, and others just make you turn your head to the side a little and go "huh."
Risks and challenges
The risks involved with this project are minimal. With the exception of a few pages, the book is already written. This campaign is simply to pay for the printing of an initial run of the book. The one timeline issue you have can be addressed like this: it won't be printed by Christmas. We should have it soon afterwards, but Christmas just won't work out.
