It is refreshing to see the time resource being actively used as part of the development, so many projects are otherwise rushed out in a great hurry, with the promise of patches forever hereafter. Just not today, for yesterday came in the way. :-)

@Michael : Ok thanks for that.....I wont be attacking any stations in a hurry then just to see what happens :)

      @ Synchromesh

Alpha and Beta are for bug testing, in Gamma we expect people to play as they would normally - which is why we've said we'll take the time we need to ensure that these stages are completed correctly. We won't be reseting during Gamma unless something completely game breaking is discovered.

Gamma Phase !! Ok that's a brilliant idea...Does that mean we needn't take our roles to seriously ?
I mean after the Gamma and you have ironed out the bugs do our ratings get reset or should we still be cautious of what we do and maybe NOT attack a station to find bugs ?

Just everything about this KS project is stellar. The updates, the dev diaries, the story updates, the music, and the game as far as I can tell.

I can't wait till the beta!

    8. Creator Antony T Curtis on October 18, 2013

I had pledged more than £200 but I selected the £150 reward because I want to wait for the beta.
(I admit, it is an excuse - I am too busy to be able to devote enough time to make my feedback worthwhile for the alpha)

      @ Robin Barnard

That hasn't been finalised yet, we have some fun ideas for it, once they're firmed up we'll release more details.

Hi Michael, is the launch party planned for the gamma or actual release? I have an invitation as part of my pledge, live in the US, and hope to plan a trip home so that I can go

    11. Creator Frontier Developments on October 18, 2013

      @ Philip Turner

Not yet, we're in the process of testing that at the moment, we'll release more details when we have them.

Good to see all is on schedule. Looking forward to the Alpha.

@Michael - any news on minimum and recommended spec's yet for the game.

    13. Creator Stewart Forgie on October 18, 2013

I am so glad that you guys are going to take the time to get this right rather than rushing to meet some arbitrary release date. I'm really looking forward to the Alpha.

    14. Creator Frontier Developments on October 18, 2013

The different phases will take whatever time they require to be done correctly, we'll provide more details of the follow up stages as we progress through Alpha.

Interesting that all Kickstarters will now participate in a Gamma phase. This obviously gives Frontier more time to get to the "gold master" while still keeping to the original March date. I have no problem with this as long as the Gamma starts in March and the more time they spend developing the game the better.

Awesome wish I had the cash for alpha , non the wait will make it all the sweeter!

It is an exciting timr. I'll be taking part in the beta, so it's a little longer to wait

Wow - alpha phase! I'm so excited for this game! And while I'm at it, here's another space sim that needs backing:
