    4. Creator KIlvenny on December 27, 2012

Good news folks - now taken more today than the average per day over the life of the project - Currently the average is at 18777 and needs to grow to 20834.

    5. Creator Andrew Dickson [Smug mode 'ON' :o)] on December 27, 2012

@ Paul Davies I hope we do.

Under 4k now - getting very close.....

    6. Creator Keeval on December 27, 2012

      @Davor - The ranks were...

      Harmless
      Mostly Harmless
      Poor
      Below Average
      Average
      Above Average
      Competent
      Dangerous
      Deadly
      Elite

Not sure on the number of kills needed for each rank - probably to be determined later with this being a mix of SP/MP.

    7. Creator Chunk on December 27, 2012

Under 4K now ... go go go.

    8. Creator Stephen Usher on December 27, 2012

      @Satan's worm
Yes, £150 is only three people's wages plus equipment to test upon.

Frontier are using their own cross platform game engine. They will need to write either a completely new interface layer using MacOS Cocoa libraries or port their iOS layer, which is a sim, liar platform.

Then there is the testing, on all types of Mac to make sure that there's full compatibility.

    9. Creator Davor on December 27, 2012

      Wow... nice going today :)

BTW, anyone knows how many ranks will there be to get to the Elite and what are the ranging criteria (kills, money gathered, reputation....)?

    10. Creator Coz on December 27, 2012

Twenty pounds going down big time, people must be upgrading big time.

      DB plan is working :)

    13. Creator Satans worm on December 27, 2012

Thanks db, I just think it is pitched too high, 50k above I can belive, but 150 k on an already tight objective, think I will hold upping my pledge until I see it obtainable

    14. Creator Christopher Keating on December 27, 2012

Plenty of £20 pledges now open. Thanks to those who have up-pledged and vacated them.

@Michael Hoping I can port in a Lightwave model of the Whitestar !!! Actually is modding going to be a stretch goal because I'm not joking about doing models?

    17. Creator Bloocheez on December 27, 2012

Want to help add another £4500 to the pot?
We have an author who needs to reach his minimum funding level in the next 14hrs, it is a 'no risk' venture - if the funding level needed is not reached your money will be returned in full !
His project is running on Indiegogo which accepts payments through Paypal.
He is currently at 53% funding with 14 hrs to go, with minimum pledge starting at $5 (a touch more than £3) you could help to add £4500 to the Elite: Dangerous pot with minimal expense on your part.

So what are you waiting for? visit here http://www.indiegogo.com/EliteDangerous-And-here-the-wheel now and pledge what you can!!

    18. Creator Andrzej Czarnowski on December 27, 2012

c'mon people. This is a niche production for closed environment customers. If we want to play we need to plege :) We waiting 12 year for this, i think is worth!

    19. Creator Coz on December 27, 2012

This might have been asked before but can I own more than one ship? For example, could I have an Eagle MK II for bounty hunting missions and say an anaconda sat in a hanger somewhere?

    20. Creator Associat0r on December 27, 2012

@Graeme D. Robertson - You are right but it would take another £1 million

    21. Creator Synchromesh on December 27, 2012

      @SpacialKatana : yep

    22. Creator Philip Turner [AKA PianoPhil @ FD Forum] on December 27, 2012

@ Satans - I guess it depends on how it is originally coded. What language they are using? Is it being coded with directx or OpenGL, etc.. Then they would need extensive testing in both SP and MP modes, etc.

    23. Creator Keeval on December 27, 2012

@Satans worm - yes it would. Not counting the cost of the developers. but the extra design, testing and support resources necessary. (I'm a software developer).

    24. Creator Liqua on December 27, 2012

@db - As a first name it would be pretty odd to call yourself that, and if you're going to pledge £1500 or more to be allowed to use Jameson as a surname I doubt you're going to be an idiot about your name ;-)

    25. Creator Chunk on December 27, 2012

@Viking I dont know really ... more wishful thinking on my part.

    26. Creator Viking on December 27, 2012

@ Shadowfax: Aha! Thanks for the info! :)

    27. Creator Bloocheez on December 27, 2012

@db - none of the Jamesons will, they're protected (checke the pledge tiers on the right)

    28. Creator Z.C.R. on December 27, 2012

@Andrew Mitchell -- It may well be a valid point, even if I'm not certain that the market share is enormous and that a significant fraction of said market will flock here to pledge in the next week. Hope they do, though.

I'm not against seeing other platforms supported, but I think that some more exciting content-related goals might help to push the total as high as possible before the end.

@Associat0r -- It would be great if such a goal appeared. From what FD have been saying, however, it seems that planetary landings as envisaged this time around require a whole lot more development, and won't be ready in 2014 no matter how much extra cash is raised.

As long as they're worth waiting for and *do* materialise within a reasonable time frame (i.e. not three years down the line, or something), then I'll be happy.

    29. Creator Coz on December 27, 2012

whoa! only ~4k to one mil

    30. Creator Chunk on December 27, 2012

@Michael :) beat me to it ty.

@Shadowfax You will be able to name your ships, although your commander name is your unique identifier. Michael

Dec. 21, 2012 on Elite: Dangerous.

    31. Creator db on December 27, 2012

@Satans worm - stretch goals rarely translate DIRECTLY into development effort. It basically means more cash for frontier/the game, a portion of which will go into the port; testing; and the fact that any add ons will presumably need to support the other platform.

    32. Creator Shadowfax on December 27, 2012

@Viking, Certainly, but not at the same time ;)

    33. Creator Liqua on December 27, 2012

      @Michael - Thank you for re-afirming

    34. Creator db on December 27, 2012

I wonder how many of Commander Jameson, Jamieson, Jammeson, James' Son will get snapped up at the beginning. I'm expecting a few hundred Ian Bells, A few Meredith Argent, Jjagged Bbanners etc.

    35. Creator Satans worm on December 27, 2012

Genuine question, does it really cost a min of gbp150k to convert to mac? Seems an awful lot of money to convert a game ?

    36. Creator Alien on December 27, 2012

@Jonathon Hammond ... OK, I put the bunny in a box with some poison and some uranium 252
So pledge or bunny may or may not get it (Ask Schrodinger)

    37. Creator Eric on December 27, 2012

      @Herr Antony Murray

      4k away ;)

    38. Creator Viking on December 27, 2012

@ Carsten: Name your SHIPS, in plural? Now I'm confused ... can you own more than one ship in ED?

    39. Creator Jason S on December 27, 2012

      @ Michael Madeley

      You are wise :)

    40. Creator Frontier Developments on December 27, 2012

    43. Creator Chunk on December 27, 2012

@Liqua ok ty I will go through em :)

    44. Creator Jonathan Hammond on December 27, 2012

@Alien people who like to shoot others in space sims might find it more of an incentive if they have to pledge for the bunny to get it! :)

    45. Creator Bloocheez on December 27, 2012

@Carsten - Liqua is correct (I have decent recall)
one of our backers also has their ships name in their name headline (Charon's Pact)

    46. Creator Michael Madeley on December 27, 2012

Just jontied up to get the expansions, had to wait to see how much I could spare between pay days. Dont think I should tell the wife though, I dont think she'd be impressed.

    47. Creator Commander Keith [@mistertricker] on December 27, 2012

All this talk if discovering and naming systems etc made me think of a whole new potential game mechanic which is basically Monopoly in Space? That might be an interesting idea. Stake your claim on an unexplored system and maybe it'll have resources or be a waypoint en-route somewhere else? Over time you could develop it and take in the cash?

    48. Creator Jason S on December 27, 2012

Last couple of days, seems we are already starting on that spike, I am more hopeful.

    49. Creator Chunk on December 27, 2012

@Parablax seems unlikely that they will ever kiss and make up.
