      It wouldnt hurt to have a little Spam at the survivor book its very close....And another 3 grand :)

    2. Mobius on December 23, 2012

      so far kickstarter has managed to make an extra £7367 is the past 4 hrs.

    3. Nat Saiger on December 23, 2012

      extra character slots would be a good candidate for a real money transaction. so would multi-ship ownership

    4. Christopher Gillie on December 23, 2012

      @Bil Irving
      @ PaulB

      The choice sounds much more sensible. I was a bit worried that some people who were more flush with cash than me would start with a whole flotilla!

    5. Stephen Usher on December 23, 2012

      @JC Ford
      I agree that Mac support would be a very good idea, especially given the large number of machines now being sold (and I own one).

      However, it's a diversion which cannot be afforded until after the game is released for the PC. Keeping asking about it won't help this project get funded and may put off new backers.

      Hey guys, I saw some comments earlier about fan created videos. If you do any, could you also add a link to this thread over on the Frontier Forum please? If the thread gets enough interest, I will turn it into a sticky :)

      @Christopher Gillie, I think it will work like start positions in Frontier: http://tinypic.com/view.php…

    9. Liqua on December 23, 2012

      @Tim L - that would certainly set the scene

    10. Bil Irving on December 23, 2012

      @Christopher: It gives you options when you start a new game. You can pick any of the starting options that your pledge level entitles you to. You can only do one at a time though! :)

    11. Tim L [Paden on ED Forums] on December 23, 2012

      Guys, I know that ED is not going to have a linear storyline with loads of cutscenes, but I would LOVE a long cinematic introduction to set the scene when you start a new career - it's fine if there aren't anymore cutscenes after that!

    12. TheMightyBoosh on December 23, 2012

      @Bill, agree that ks the priority but I've convinced 4 people to pledge via paypal who cannot use ks and who otherwise would not be able to help the game develop. I just think their contribution deserves to be recognised. Glad its being addressed after christmas.

    13. Keeval on December 23, 2012

      @Christopher - the £85 pledge reward gives you ALL of the starting options. You get a different ship per starting option.. not all the ships at once.. as that would be too big a starting advantage :)

    14. Keeval on December 23, 2012

      @Stefan - we don't know about the Alliance yet- nothing has been mentioned.

    15. Fozza on December 23, 2012

      Sorry for being a Scrooge McDuck, but have I missed something or was today's update ( although always welcome) not very exciting? :-)

    16. Commander Boz on December 23, 2012

      @JC Ford - Right on Commander! It really would be good at this point for FD to publish some stretch goals.

    17. Nathanael Page on December 23, 2012

      @John-Paul Treen

      Agree, it is buggy, but I find the version I have to be playable- don't really have any problems. Just a pity the hand crafted missions stop short.

      Kim, Bill. Thanks for that. Got a bit thrown by an earlier comment that sounded like you had to tick each one. Cheers :)

    19. JC Ford on December 23, 2012

      Just updated my profile pic to hit home that wanted Mac support.

    20. Christopher Gillie on December 23, 2012

      @Bil Irving

      you are saying £85 gets you a choice of ships or all the ships, someof which you could then sell?

    21. John-Paul Treen on December 23, 2012

      @ Nathanael Page

      Damn. If only FFE wasn't so buggy I'd go back. That game's messy release really is the perfect advert for funding a game this way rather than the old way.

    22. Nathanael Page on December 23, 2012

      Less than £27k to go until we reach 75% of target

    23. Rollo on December 23, 2012

      Sorry if this has been adressed. As you now can start from Imperial, Federal or Independent space according to the new pledge levels, does that mean the Alliance (from FFE) is not a faction anymore?

    24. Glen Deathridge on December 23, 2012

      I've added an extra £15 to my pledge

    25. Bil Irving on December 23, 2012

      @Kevin: Your pledge reward includes all rewards at that level or below automatically.

    26. Kim Håland on December 23, 2012

      @Kevin, you get all like the music, ships and so on

    27. Nathanael Page on December 23, 2012

      Thanks for the plugs. :)

      Please don't forget John Harper, though. His campaign finihses before mine (5 days left) and does need support:

      Kevin Hobbs on December 23, 2012

      @Michael. Probably a silly question but if my pledge is £90 and i ticked reward 90, does that mean i get all rewards, music, ships etc below automatically or do i need to tick each one below?

    29. Eric on December 23, 2012

      @G. Fryer

      Someone copied a post earlier from the Frontier forums were someone said that the plan was to get a counter up at their site, but their "webguy" simply ran out of time before the Christmas holiday. I expect there will be one implemented after Christmas.

    30. Nathanael Page on December 23, 2012

      @ Liam Rafferty

      In fact, if you jump to 7:12 in the fourth video diary, you can see the ship on the right hand side (I used my won saved position in this video)

    31. Stewart Robertson (BBC & Acorn Electron) on December 23, 2012

      Will the game AI ships have names reserved like a huge explorer ship called say the "Carl Sagan" It would be cool if you were playing and could dock and say you seen it only moments later for a friend to say they passed it as well.

      I hope the Ai does not cheat, I really hate when a game compensates for lack human skill and takes short cuts. I expect if I pass a large ship its on a course and will follow and fulfil that course even if it’s a long route. I don’t want things appearing just for my experience and benefit I just want to bump into things for the reason that’s where they are for a reason.

    32. Commander Boz on December 23, 2012

      Let's get the next book over the line! Remember, every one pound you pledge will be multiplied by 1.5 by Nathanael when he pays the £4500!

    33. Nathanael Page on December 23, 2012

      @ Liam Rafferty

      FFE = Frontier First Encounters (Elite 3).

    34. Bil Irving on December 23, 2012

      @G.Fryer: TBH, I think whilst this campaign is still short of its goal, PayPal *doesn't* help the game. It diverts funds away from the Kickstarter campaign, and should only really be used if you CANNOT pledge through Kickstarter directly.

    35. Nathanael Page on December 23, 2012

      @ John-Paul Treen

      That was the Turner class, wasn't it?

      There's a much better ship if you continue with the quests...

    36. Christopher Gillie on December 23, 2012

      @ Bil Irving

      I know - but It gives an idea of what is needed - £27,933 a day on average. Assuming 100 or so new backers a day with an average of £50 each, thats only £5000 a day, we need existing backers to upgrade as well. Thats why the new pledges came in.

    37. Mobius on December 23, 2012

      @ Nathanael Page
      whats FFE, plus I have to say to the others here that dont know but Nat is very close to having his Official Kickstarter Elite book become a reality, those of you that havnt pledged do so now, as it will be another £4500 to the total for Elite.

      http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/232063970/survivor-an-elite-dangerous-gamebook

    38. TheMightyBoosh on December 23, 2012

      @Bill - understand that paypal can't be used for ks, just think paypal contributions should see a running total. If nothing else helps contributors see how their pledge is helping the game.

    39. Shadowfax on December 23, 2012

      @synchromesh lol, thanks :)

    40. Bil Irving on December 23, 2012

      One of my mates has just become a backer in the last hour too... looks like spamming Facebook worked after all. :)

    41. John-Paul Treen on December 23, 2012

      @ Nathanael Page

      I remember getting that ship and being a little disappointed that I lost it again when I landed at Alioth.

    49. Bil Irving on December 23, 2012

      @Christopher: Well worked out, but it won't be that linear I don't think.
