      4 £20 tiers available now! Hurry :)

    4. Creator Philip Coutts on December 22, 2012

@Chris yes that's going to be a major advantage because you will be able to pick out the one that suits you best. @Michael what will the starting ship list be is it The Sidewinder, Eagle mkII and Cobra mkIII or will there be others?

    5. Creator Bloocheez on December 22, 2012

      @Lars - I'm definitely starting as a Pirate ;)

    6. Creator Mario Geatti on December 22, 2012

Wow those updates are cool, I won't be able to sleep now. Have to calm down.

    7. Creator Bil Irving on December 22, 2012

@Liqua: I'll look forward to starting on the planet you name. :) Congratulations. I think that makes you a Daddy.

    8. Creator Captain Dangerous on December 22, 2012

Long range Cobra Mk.III sounds very interesting. So does the Pirate option. And start with either of these from the Founders world. Hmm. Decisions, decisions.

    9. Creator Lars Jørgen Kire[Lortsamler] on December 22, 2012

haha,i bet that pirate tier will be a hardcore one :p

    10. Creator Philip Coutts on December 22, 2012

Ship tuning for all at the Beta level, another reason to increase your pledges boys and girls.

    11. Creator Geraldine McDaid on December 22, 2012

Woooeeeee, just look at those £20 pledge tiers opening up!

    12. Creator Stewart Forgie on December 22, 2012

@ Liqua: Congrats to you Liqua and our thanks also. Now take your time and consider carefully the name you decide on.

    13. Creator Andrew Brown on December 22, 2012

Congratulations Liqua - hope you and your wife come up with a good name for it :)

    14. Creator Bil Irving on December 22, 2012

Bloocheez shouldn't name it IMO, as she can't even spell "Blue Cheese". :-p

    15. Creator Philip Coutts on December 22, 2012

Brilliant update with plenty to talk about. Sidewinder is confirmed as well. Absolutely buzzing now

    16. Creator Chris Wicksteed on December 22, 2012

As an alpha/beta tester, I hope I get to test out all of the various ships/starting positions!

    17. Creator Your average joe shmoe on December 22, 2012

Andrew Brown, Ahh! Okay. It might have been a silly suggestion but at least it gave me the opportunity to deliver a weak pun.

It's a moot point anyway. The project has gained more than enough momentum to ensure success.

    18. Creator Nathanael Page on December 22, 2012

      @ Liqua:

      Blob.

Please let it be Blob. :)

    19. Creator Andrew Mitchell on December 22, 2012

      @Liqua, I envy you ;)

    20. Creator Frontier Developments on December 22, 2012

      @ JC Ford

Yes, with any kickstarter decal you can travel to the Founder's system, but for £85 you can start there.

      Michael

    21. Creator Philip Coutts on December 22, 2012

The £20 slots are starting to free up now. Almost makes you think they had a plan all along....;-) where's @Eric with his tinfoil hat.........

    22. Creator Bloocheez on December 22, 2012

@all - I'll be naming it, that was our deal ;)

    23. Creator Jeroen on December 22, 2012

ok, who bought the £5000 'name founder system' tier ?

    24. Creator Liqua on December 22, 2012

@JC Ford - I have a few .. but will wait for now .. my lovely wife has a major say in the matter as she wanted it as well ;-)

    25. Creator Bil Irving on December 22, 2012

      @Liqua - you star. :)

    26. Creator Kim Håland on December 22, 2012

omg Liqua, omg congrats to name our founding planet :) hope we get a awsome name and not rainbow flower or something :p

    27. Creator Philip Coutts on December 22, 2012

@Liqua Right on commander, I look forward to visiting the "Founders" world and to see what you decide to name it.

    28. Creator Andrew Brown on December 22, 2012

From the update, y£20 gets you a Sidewinder as your starting ship.

    29. Creator Gaz Bailey [HappyMonday @FD Forum] on December 22, 2012

Just noticed those new tiers. I think @Lars came up with those. Good work FD

    30. Creator Knarlfin [Create The Legend] on December 22, 2012

@Liqua, I take it thanks are in order then ;) Congrats sir.

    31. Creator Nathanael Page on December 22, 2012

      Ooo.. and Sidewinders confirmed too.

I like the ship sthat have been confirmed as the intiial ships so far- traditional ones from Elite, with a few of the Frontier ones thrown in. Better this way than all-new ships, at least in my traditionalist mind.

    32. Creator JC Ford on December 22, 2012

@ Liqua - Any thoughts on the name?

    33. Creator Burkhard Reto on December 22, 2012

I think they should make an auction the new £5000 level.

    34. Creator Frontier Developments on December 22, 2012

You can choose any of the starting options that your pledge tier is higher than. So at £85 or higher you can pick from any of the options. I'll add this to the FAQ.

      Michael

    35. Creator Kim Håland on December 22, 2012

thats the starter ship eewwwww. sidewinder.

    36. Creator Philip Coutts on December 22, 2012

@Darren one of the reasons is that they are gently trying to encourage people to up their pledge from the starting £20 slot. If you add it into the pledge upgrades people will stay in the starting £20 slots and not free up spaces for new pledgers.

    37. Creator Andrew Mitchell on December 22, 2012

Well for me it just has to be "Independent Trader".

    38. Creator Liqua on December 22, 2012

@Michael - Thanks for the new £5K slot .. just upped my pledge.

    39. Creator Alien on December 22, 2012

A new £5,000 tier? ... Where's DeusX when you need him?

    40. Creator Kim Håland on December 22, 2012

@all haha. the start ship on 20£ is
Default: Start in a safe Federal core system with a Sidewinder ship

    41. Creator JC Ford on December 22, 2012

Really pleased to finally see more options for the lower pledges - I think we are going to see a good momentum now in the final two weeks.

    42. Creator Bil Irving on December 22, 2012

£85... any starter ship... cool, I'm covered. :)

    43. Creator Stewart Forgie on December 22, 2012

I wonder if the founders system will be a core system ofr a frontier system?

    44. Creator Kim Håland on December 22, 2012

@Jeroen, that means you cant choose lave at start of the game at the 20£ one, the 55£ you get to choose lave to start on.

    45. Creator Andrew Brown on December 22, 2012

I doubt the new £5000 slot will be available for long

    46. Creator Knarlfin [Create The Legend] on December 22, 2012

@Jeroen - the original Elite started at Lave with 100cr and a Cobra MK3. Frontier and FFE had various start points. It suggests that the standard £20 will have more limited start points, credits and ships - but won't include the start points people are able to pledge for?

    47. Creator Darren Maxwell on December 22, 2012

Kinda wonder why FD didn't include any ships in the pledge rewards, like an extra £15 gets you staring with a ship one level above the default, or the Elite Founders getting a ship with a little more defensive firepower. Not talking huge battleships to a degree making the game aimless, just a wee "Kickstarter" ;) and a good incentive to up-pledge.

    48. Creator Kim Håland on December 22, 2012

@Jeroen, a standard 20£ one you get a stock ship, while the 55£ you get a upgraded ship. with aditional storage and credit start
