      @Bill there are lots of things I am sure Frontier would keep completely secret as they should....I agree there. I was thinking people in the design forums would be allowed to talk about things to friends etc and sort of be ambassadors (if they chose to). Of course they can just keep it all to themselves. I don't know it is pure speculation I have no idea how it would be done.

    2. Creator Styggron on December 16, 2012

      @Bill I guess it depends if the design members are ambassadors as such so people can talk to them and they can choose to put the ideas forward OR if they are completely not allowed to talk about it outside of the forums.

      @Sean Houlihane

      That's probably the best option!

      +10 :)

    4. Creator JHewett on December 16, 2012

      @ Pete - Yes, exactly the way I thought too - you put it in better words than me :)

    5. Creator T. James on December 16, 2012

      @Styggron Possibly, they may want us to blog about what we discover to increase promo and awareness of the game...

    6. Creator Styggron on December 16, 2012

      @Andrew I think Lars is the #1 commentator.

    7. Creator Styggron on December 16, 2012

      @Pete Sounds good.

    8. Creator Bil Irving on December 16, 2012

      @Styggron: would be surprised if we didn't.

    9. Creator Bil Irving on December 16, 2012

      @Pete: +1

    10. Creator Stephen Usher on December 16, 2012

      Styggron, good question.

    11. Creator Styggron on December 16, 2012

      For people in the design decision forums, do you think we will need to sign NDA's ?

    12. Creator Bil Irving on December 16, 2012

      @Styggron: Reminds me of a saying, that we are all on the same side, in our own entirely separate & sovereign ways. :)

    13. Creator Pete Wadley on December 16, 2012

      The digital only tier could include the extra decal if people want that instead of physical stuff

    14. Creator Sean Houlihane on December 16, 2012

      To fix the £90 level for international pledgers, just make it an option to swap the physical artefacts for a digital vanity item, and ask in the questionnaire at the end. It doesn't need any chance to the pledges, but a clarification about this being an option that you can chose at the end (and avoid postage).

    15. Creator Jaitinder Singh on December 16, 2012

      michael - minor, but the main page has update #13 labelled as update #12, probably needs corrected etc...

    16. Creator Styggron on December 16, 2012

      @Lars you are WAY ahead of me and always will be for comments. I don't stand a chance....I have to go to work during the week. :-P

    17. Creator Pete Wadley on December 16, 2012

      I was thinking 3 x 90 tiers one with t-shirt- one with mug and 1 with digital only. that way you could mention twice that upgrades are included and it would save taking emails for what people wanted with their 90 pledge

    18. Creator Pete Wadley on December 16, 2012

      @styggron-yep I know they can't change descriptions but you could add to any new tier that all th 90 tiers get free upgrades. I think that would be fairly clear

    19. Creator Styggron on December 16, 2012

      @JHewett. ELITE fans stick together man. I FULLY understand and appreciate your situation. The important thing is you are here and THAT makes a BIG difference!

      Ha ha, yes its going to be interesting to see :-)
      .
      Other funny stats/graphs will be like:
      .
      # Uber Key masher! (Most words/comment) - Looking at , Drew/Styggron!
      .
      # The big ASKER! (Has the most question marks in one day)
      .
      # Turn the volume down man!!!! (Most caps & exclamation marks)
      .
      See! This will be fun =)

    21. Creator Styggron on December 16, 2012

      @Stephen Unsure but I doubt it. What SC did was they rearrange the main page so when you scroll down there is a line that points to the £90 pledge and says additional information.

    22. Creator Lars Jørgen Kire[Lortsamler] on December 16, 2012

      @Bil Irving: Styggron better hurry up with his comments,if he want to win,lol

    23. Creator M Pat on December 16, 2012

      @bill - don't. It will only encourage him ... :-)

    24. Creator Stephen Usher on December 16, 2012

      Styggron. I wonder is KS will allow the main page to be re-organised so that the FAQ is at or near the top. At the moment it seems so far down the huge page that it's unlikely that most people will find it!

    26. Creator Bil Irving on December 16, 2012

      @Lars: oops yep... statistics do not lie. Oh well... let the battle commence I suppose. :)

    27. Creator Styggron on December 16, 2012

      @Pete KS won't let them edit any details on pledges that people have alreday pledged on so they cannot change the description. This is why we need to help out people deciding and hope they read the updates and FAQ :-) All they can do is add a £90 digital only pledge and they would need to mention that this digital only pledge stands "alone" and levels above it does not include the digital only pledge. Levels above it includes either the physical or digital level £90 :-) It starts to get tricky and a little convoluted but is doable.

    28. Creator Eric on December 16, 2012

      @Michael

      I think a tier somewhere below/around £50 with a "special" ship (in some form) would probably be a good idea to bring lower backers up a couple of steps, but as far as I have understood it that is already "in the works"? First I thought about opening up a new tier at £25, but I have changed my mind about that. It's much better to find ways to get existing £20 backers to move up and releasing slots that way instead. For me the £90 tier (£105 with shipping) now is a no-brainier, but we need to find a middle ground for people who can't/won't go that high.

    29. Creator Lars Jørgen Kire[Lortsamler] on December 16, 2012

      @Bil Irving: Nope,i have nearly 500 more comments than @Styggron :p

    30. Creator JHewett on December 16, 2012

      @Styggron - thanks for the understanding. I am not always best at expressing myself 'on paper'.

      @Bill You are very very very kind. :-)

      (need an edit)

    33. Creator Styggron on December 16, 2012

      @JHewett YOu do NOT sound selfish. You sound COMPLETELY logical and reasonable. The choices need to please one person.....you. :-) and you have to feel comfortable and value for money and you know you are contributing to the funding of something amazing. :-)

    34. Creator Bil Irving on December 16, 2012

      Morning @Andrew Winter. @Styggron wins. That is all.
      .
      :-)

    35. Creator JHewett on December 16, 2012

      @ Michael. Well, you said that £90 was the right fit for the expansions to be included, so make it a £90 digital tier, with an exclusive decal.
      Personally it would be unlikely for me to get the £90 tier with physical goods - I just could live with NOT getting what I paid for, so it would also cost me £15 extra for international shipping, but for the £90 digital tier...well, I would MAKE that happen.

    36. Creator Styggron on December 16, 2012

      @JHewett Like I said do NOT buy ANY game locally. Go to ozgameshop! :-) Check them out and be amazed. FREE shipping to australia as well.

    37. Creator Pete Wadley on December 16, 2012

      @Bil and @styggron - Indeed ;) Lets hope they implement it. I do think adding info the pledge levels will help a bit, as it is what most new backers will look at pretty quickly. Certainly the free upgrades deserves a mention :)

    38. Creator Lars Jørgen Kire[Lortsamler] on December 16, 2012

      @Andrew Winter: That would be me,i guess,lol

    39. Creator StuartM on December 16, 2012

      @Sean Houlihane Probably worth it, considering how much it slows down when the UK sleeps!

    40. Creator Styggron on December 16, 2012

      @JHewett As I also said below a second £90 wirth digital only is also fine. People outside UK save £15. I also bet most will go for the physical items because it costs the same. :-)

    41. Creator Ole Eitels on December 16, 2012

      If FD introduced a new all digital tier with all updates included for £70, that will tempt a lot of people, (including me) i think.

      £105 is simply too steep imho, and only the hardcore fans in the crowd will pledge that much.

    42. Creator Andrew Winter (www.elite-stats.co.uk) on December 16, 2012

      Morning all! =)
      .
      Later today I'll be bringing you the 'flaming keyboard' award!!! - a daily leadership board for the users with the most comments (perhaps hall of shame for some) =)
      .
      Its just a little fun as we head for christmas & the finish line!
      .
      More comment board stats & awards to follow!!! =)

    43. Creator Lars Jørgen Kire[Lortsamler] on December 16, 2012

      @John Harper: Yep. Not good,but hopefully it will speed up later today.

    44. Creator Stephen Usher on December 16, 2012

      @Michael, seeing as decals (if user generated) cost Frontier Developments the cost of the storage space on the servers (i.e. almost nothing), other than possibly the cost of moderating them, it may be simplest to merely say that for every £20 above £5 you have an extra decal slot that someone can use to upload their decal design into.

      It's simple, it's clear, if gives an incentive to upgrade and, most importantly, it costs the project almost nothing.

    45. Creator JHewett on December 16, 2012

      @ Styggron - Yeah, sure, that IS human nature, but as someone below already suggested, you could just have more than 1 £90 tier - 1 digital only, 1 for physical stuff etc.
      I guess what I was trying to say is that there are alternative incentives for people who want digital only, that don't cost much to implement, and might draw a few people in.
      As it stands I want to go £90 and don't want the physical items, but it is really borderline with my budget, and there is nothing that interests me in between (beta access would be nice though).
      I do want this project to be successful and don't have heaps of cash spare, so I have to choose carefully where it all goes, especially this close to Christmas. £70 in Aud is worth a whole new game (or 2) to me.
      sorry if I sound a little selfish, but these are the tough choices I have to make :)

    47. Creator Sean Houlihane on December 16, 2012

      To get more US backers probably means more work on the forums, etc. More than the pricing effect, I think visibility is really what is holding us back there. That and the lower existing fan base for Elite.

    48. Creator Bil Irving on December 16, 2012

      @Pete Wadley: great minds!! :-)

    49. Creator Styggron on December 16, 2012

      @Pete True. Frontier would get more of the £90. and the descp could say that all £90 levels get free upgrades. It does not devalue those already at £90 and gives Frontier more £.

      I bet they will do exactly that.
