XFlaps are a revolutionary solution to an age old problem, they are low-cost and can be installed by anyone in minutes. Simply peel the adhesive backing off of the Mud Flap Tape and install it on the fender. Our unique Patent Pending design allows the product to follow the contours of the vehicle and provide a sleek, high tech appearance. The automotive grade adhesive backing stays put until you decide to remove it.
We have all seen it on older vehicles, sometimes not so old, damage to the paint, sheet metal, and body work, starting behind the wheels.
As you may know, while driving, tires throw high speed projectiles like stones, rocks, dirt and sand into your car's lower fender and rocker areas. When the coating or paint surface of the fender is compromised (sand blasted or chipped away) it is not only unsightly and expensive to repair, the steel is exposed to oxygen, moisture, salt, and miscellaneous chemicals on the road surface. This begins the corrosion process, which can lead to rust.
Classic Mud Flaps:
Traditional mud flaps are typically flat thick rubber or molded plastic and normally require a mechanic to install them. They may require removal of the wheels and drilling holes into the fragile painted surfaces. Additionally, most mud flaps are model specific and require custom contours and designs, which drastically increases their price. Not to mention the cost of professional installation.
XFlaps are small and discreet. We designed them to flow naturally with the car's curves and go mostly unnoticed, while providing good protection for most vehicles.
Designed for long term or temporary use, XFlaps are also easily removed if necessary.

After extensive testing, we have decided for the first release of this product to use tough .017 black polycarbonate bonded to high-strength adhesive tape with a conformable foam core.

The high-strength acrylic tape used on XFlaps is designed to adhere exceptionally well to painted surfaces, it also adheres well to most plastic surfaces, but is not designed to adhere to fibrous surfaces.
Production parts will have a bend line that allow the XFlaps to be bent by hand to fit around corners and fit both wheel openings with flanges, and those with rolled or flat edges.
XFlaps can be cut to shorter lengths, or joined together to make longer XFlaps of any length for custom applications.

Not long enough for you? Two become one.
1. Make sure the surface to be mounted to is clean and dry. We recommend mild soap and water, or clean with common Isopropyl alcohol for heavily soiled surfaces.
2. Position the XFlap over the wheel opening edge and evaluate the best location for installation. If the wheel opening has a rolled or flat edge, bend the petals along the bend line to the desired position.
3. Remove the protective liner from the Xflap's adhesive.
4. Place the XFlap on the mounting location lightly. Check alignment and carefully re-position as necessary.
5. Press firmly along the length of the XFlap for maximum adhesion.
6. Admire your car's new stylish, low-cost upgrade. Have peace of mind, that your vehicle is protected as you drive.
Removal: Grab the top petal and stretch it away from the others, stretching the foam weakens the bond and allows the XFlaps to pull away easily from the wheel opening.

Risks and challenges
The greatest risk is to your unprotected paint! We have every intention to bring this product to the market, it is simply a matter of time, and we have a growing list of consumers that want these on their car today. There are very few risks, the technical and testing hurdles have already been overcome and now we are just down to manufacturing details and purchasing bulk materials. We will work diligently to ensure timely delivery to contributors.
