So, what is this great idea?
Have you ever sat in a bar during a sports game and noticed that everyone is staring at their phones updating and reviewing their fantasy team? We've all done it but it doesn't create much of a shared experience and it can be, well, kind of boring. But what if you could match up with people you were actually with instead of mindless scrolling through your phone?
With our new interactive platform, you will be able to challenge your friends to a fantasy matchup in a bar, restaurant or at a party. You can watch the action unfold in venue and can play with friends who are outside of their league. You and your buddies would go to the bar, sign up for our simplified daily fantasy sports contests through an app on your phone, and compete against each other and the other patrons for prize money. Standings would be displayed on one of the TVs. Fans would win cash, the bar would have heightened day of game sales, and regional and local advertisers would have a captive audience to market towards.
Our product has the potential to change the fantasy sports industry as the world knows it. Ours is no small task, as 57 million North Americans played fantasy sports in 2014. But the upside is tremendous, as we have the chance to totally revolutionize this $70 billion dollar industry. We are confident we'll change the industry because where our competitors have a one dimensional revenue structure, we have three. We create this three dimensional revenue stream by licensing our contests to bars, restaurants, and other social gathering establishments. Our exciting product appeals to fantasy sports gamers, drive business in establishments, and create a digital marketing channel where brands have the opportunity to market to a captive audience. We've considered a number of funding avenues in pursuit of this vision.
Bringing Fan2See Sports to Life
We are excited to announce that one of these opportunities has just ripened. A few weeks back, we received word that Fan2See has been accepted into to the competitive Alpha Programme at the Web Summit Conference November 3 through 5 in Dublin, Ireland. We will have the opportunity to put our idea in front of the world's foremost players in the tech and investment fields. Past attendees to the Web Summit Conference include Vine, Uber, Goldman Sachs, the Wall Street Journal, and Fan Duel, among others. This is the break Fan2See Sports has been working towards, but we need your help to get to Dublin. We are talking about anything, from a financial contribution to frequent flier miles to your passing this message along to anyone who might be interested in our vision--every little bit helps. We're looking to raise about $5,000 to build a product prototype to display at the Web Summit.
Overview of Costs
Build digital framework and mobile application to facilitate live in person fantasy sports in a social setting such as bar, restaurant, area, movie theater: $2,000
Registration Cost: $2,500
Marketing Materials: $500
We will run a demo at a local bar or restaurant before we present the product to investors in Dublin
Can we exceed the goal?
YES! We will be paying out of pocket for any costs associated with the product demo presentation so this goal we have now is the absolute minimum we need to get to Dublin. If together we exceed this goal by the deadline, then we will be able to create a more comprehensive product and harness the opportunities for optimal financial gain.
Risks and challenges
What happens if the goal is not met?
If we do not reach our goal, we do not receive any money pledged and we will not be able to build the prototype or attend the conference. We want to avoid this scenario at all cost! Our hope is that Web Summit will give Fan2See Sports the opportunity to rub elbows with the right crowd and gain valuable brand exposure. But, we won’t be able to test run our product or get to Dublin without your help!
