It's the eve of the Apocalypse, and the personified vices of mankind are throwing a ball to celebrate. The Four Horsemen are naturally the guests of honour, but while Famine, War, and Pestilence are thrilled to be there, Death is not.
Try as they might, they can't convince him to dance with anyone. But it is a ball and he must dance with someone. So... who will Death deign to dance with?
"A Dance With Death" is a modern fable about the end of the world told in comic format. It can be read for free at Overmorrow Tales. This is the second webcomic created by myself, Crystal Yates, the first being the 12 year long epic fantasy, Earthsong.
This Kickstarter's main goal is to get A Dance With Death into print! The print copy will include all of the content found online as well as several bonus pages of concept sketches and other art not available to the general public. A downloadable pdf will also be available for those not interested in the dead tree version of the comic!
Along with the physical book, you'll also get a 6x9" exclusive print that will not be available outside of the Kickstarter! This is included at no extra cost.
In addition to the book, I also want to do a limited edition run of Death Enamel pins! Who doesn't want a dapper little Death to sit on their lapel?
I'm an avid collector of enamel pins, so I'm excited to get these made!
Prices are all in CAD! $1 CAD is approximately $0.75 USD.
This time around I'll be doing all the shipping myself, but I'll be using a great service that will take my US packages across the border and ship them via USPS, allowing me to offer lower shipping prices than using the standard post in Canada. The prices below are for any order and are in CAD.
- $5 to USA
- $5 to Canada
- $6 International
Risks and challenges
This is my second time on the Kickstarter carousel, and with the last one being a smashing success, I'm confident that this one will be no different! The goal for this one is much lower than my previous kickstarter, and with my lovely readers still along for the ride, I'm certain we'll make it. The only thing that is new this time around is the production of the enamel pins. I haven't had them made before, but I've got a good company lined up to make them.
Approximately 40% of the funds will go towards having the books printed, 40% to shipping expenses, 10% to the production of the pins, and the last 10% goes to Kickstarter!
