Does love trump science?
In a dystopian world where society has outlawed art, sex, and individuality, Stanley and Rebecca fall in love. When the government finds out their secret, both are subjected to a ‘reset’ – they have their memories of each other wiped clean through a process that is both physically and emotionally painful.

More about Permanence:
Our film centers on Stanley Wells. When he was a child he began to see rights and freedoms begin to slip away. Now, a government determined to maintain power has almost completely striped the country of art, love, and individuality. Knowing life has more to offer, Stanley takes a chance and meets with a young woman named Rebecca, who is drawn to Stanley for his knowledge of the world before its oppression, and the two fall in love. But when the government discovers their relationship, Stanley and Rebecca are arrested and are subjected to a procedure that removes their memories of each other: they are ‘reset.’ The question we ask: is their connection stronger than the government's will to keep them apart?
PERMANENCE is the graduate thesis film for Calvin Johnson (Director) and Anna R. Swenson (Editor), who attend the Savannah College of Art & Design. Talented students from many majors are collaborating on this film that will show the power of emotion and the need for human connection. Each and every donation will help bring this project to life. Production will commence in October, and although the crew will be donating their time, we need your donations in order to provide transportation, food and lodging for the cast and crew. Additional distribution of the raised funds will support the cost of production design, purchase of props, and acquisition of locations and equipment. We’ve got a great start, but we would be eternally grateful for your support to help give us that extra push!
Thank you for your support and please check back regularly for updates.
