BASE HOPE:  The last outpost.  Hold it at all cost.  An abandoned base that was chosen because of its remoteness in the desert, far from population centers.  A small group of virus free construction workers, medical professionals, engineers and army personnel were brought here to look for a cure and failing that to escape by building and launching the Advanced Research Capsule to start a new world of virus free meeples.

ARMY SQUAD: The last of the world's military forces, they are responsible for security of the Base Hope and ensuring that enough escape to carry on. They are better armed and move faster than other meeples and zombies.  These men and women have an impossible mission that they are determined to see through to the end.

MEDICAL LAB BUILDING:  Building where the medical team is racing to develop a zombie virus cure.  They need all the time they can get to have any chance of success and once zombies enter the building all research stops.

MEDICAL TEAM: These dedicated men and women are all that remain of earth's medical professionals. They are the only team that can find a zombie cure. Their work has produced a very slim chance for a cure if the team can continue their research in the medical building. But with gray zombies everywhere will they finish their work or be finished by the zombies before their work is done?

TECHNOLOGY BUILDING:  Building where the engineers are programming the National Orbiter Autopilots to fly the ARC and survivors to safety. The NOAs must complete programming and reach the ARC if the flight is to be successful .

ENGINEERING GROUP: A handful of men and women are all that is left of the world's scientific community.  They are the only group that can program NOA to fly the ARC to a new world free of the gray zombie virus. Can the rocket scientists actually finish the rocket while fending off zombie attacks? Can programming NOA for the flight be completed before the labs are overrun by zombies?

LAUNCH PAD:  Location where the construction crew is readying the rocket for take off and need 16 hours to complete their task.  Being fueled and supplied for a new colony, the Advanced Research Capsule awaits NOA and the survivors.  Like moths to a flame, zombies can't stay away from the ARC. They must not reach the ARC or all is lost.

CONSTRUCTION CREW: Zombies have created chaos through the world's infrastructure. These hardy men and women were brought to Base Hope at the last moment to build the protective compound and launch pad. They are uniquely capable of building barriers to slow down advancing zombies if needed. BUT such work also slows down their efforts at completing the final stages of the launch pad before the zombies can infect the ARC with the deadly virus.

Once the virus infects a meeple it loses all color and turns into a gray zombie.

The gray virus struck quickly. It started as just a simple cough then spread to meeples all across the earth. Before much was understood or could be done the earth was overwhelmed. Infected through simple contact the virus drains all the color from any meeple and kills higher brain function, leaving a mindless gray zombie hulk in its place.  Meeples from all walks of life were infected and turned into gray zombies

YOU are one of only 52 virus free meeple survivors remaining.  The Zombie hordes have discovered the remote base in which you and fellow survivors are trying to escape the planet in a rocket to create a zombie free new world. The odds are stacked against you as the rocket launch pad is not ready and the National Orbiter Autopilots have not completed  programming to fly the Advanced Research Capsule to safety. These tasks must be completed while you defend against the zombie hordes coming to infect you and fellow survivors.  But can you hold on long enough before all hope is lost?  And IF successful, who escapes and who gets left behind?

Playing time is about an hour for ages 8 to 80+.  Over 150 wooden meeples and zombies in five colors, hard mounted game board, a deck of zombie action cards, unique droids, and dice.  Fabulous custom game art has been created by veteran Joe Spadaford, Art Director, concept artist, game designer, and illustrator from Dreamworks, NBC, Big Idea, and most recently CBN.

Left searching for anything edible these gray meeples will climb walls, break through windows and even walk directly into mortal danger.

All zombies are gray. They were once vibrant, colorful meeples that have had all of their color drained from them because of contact with virus-infected zombies, becoming one themselves.

Risks and challenges

As a small game company in business for 10 years we know the biggest challenge is meeting deadlines. So many things happen during the printing of a game that can slow up production that setting too tight a deadline can frustrate customers and reduce sales.

After production shipping and delivery become the next challenge to us. But again, with 10 years of successful projects behind us we have met and will meet the expectations of all of these projects.

As noted by a member on board game geek, "Worthington has done several KS campaigns and delivered on every one."
