Since the 2010 release of my debut album, And the Weary Eyes Reply, I've put together a solid line-up of stellar musicians for the recording of a new EP called Bare Bright Halos. As Chris McGarry and The Insomniacs, we have been writing the strongest material of my career so far with songs that reflect my coming to terms with putting roots down in Denver.
Even though we have played shows, live original music doesn't often pay what it should and recording and releasing just a short EP is a huge financial feat for any band. Even most indie labels require you to tour three months out of the year before they will have a serious talk with you.
For a quality recording that
reflects the intimacy and honesty of the songwriting with real sonic resonance,
you need a professional-sounding recording and that often means going to a
real studio and not recording in your basement.
We feel that this new Five-song EP embodies the musical vision of a group of musicians rather than that of a single songwriter alone. It represents my own growth as an artist exploring a more fully-realized creative expression. So we are asking that you make a donation to help us meet the costs of the final stages of the project - mixing and mastering, and printing and packaging the CDs. All funds will go exclusively toward these costs and I will be happy to provide you with a breakdown of expenses upon your request. Any funds raised beyond our goal will be used towards promotional costs.
Thank you for your time, for your support and we eagerly await being able to share the music we will record for this EP with you.
