Star Trek Renegades is an independent, fan-funded and supported Internet television series, executive produced by Sky Conway. Renegades features a combination of familiar Star Trek character and actors, plus a collection of hot, new rising actors.
Set a decade after Voyager's return from Delta Quadrant, ST: Renegades focuses on a team of fugitives, who are on the run from the Federation while secretly working for the head of Starfleet intelligence, Admiral Pavel Chekov (Walter Koenig) and Tuvok (Tim Russ, who also directs) to root out internal corruption within the Federation as well as external threats.
Together, Chekov and Tuvok secretly assembled this new elite strike-force, consisting of rogues, outcasts and criminals, led by the fearless, yet haunted daughter of Kahn Noonan Singh, Lexxa Singh (Adrienne Wilkinson). The Star Trek: Renegades' Pilot stars Walter Koenig (reprising his role as Admiral Chekov), Adrienne Wilkinson, Sean Young, Manu Intiraymi, Gary Graham, Robert Picardo, Corin Nemec, Bruce Young, Tim Russ, Chasty Ballesteros, Edward Furlong, Courtney Peldon, Larissa Gomes, Richard Herd, and Herbert Jefferson Jr., and introducing Crystal Conway. EXCITING, NEW ADDITIONS!
In addition to our talented team from the Renegades Pilot, we are adding a deep bench of all stars which include the following:
As a fan show, we are prohibited from making a profit on the project, therefore we are unable to approach traditional investment groups. So we have come to you, the fans, who have kept Gene Roddenberry's vision alive for the past 49 years, to help us to once again bring ST: Renegades to the screen. Kickstarter Donors took seats on the bridge of the USS Archer as members of the supporting cast and extras in the pilot. Donors will once again be able to take part in the filming of the next episodes and have the life-long memory of being an integral ingredient in the next era of the Star Trek Universe.
Every little bit helps bring us to our next goal, so your donations both large and small are what will help get us shooting by the beginning of 2016.
To the right we have listed perks from $25.00 up, to help fit into anyone and everyone's budget. Perks will include everything from a thank you in the credits, to original com-badges, signed photos by the cast, digital downloads and DVD/Blu-Ray copies of the final episode, set visits or even being cast as an extra during the filming here in Los Angeles.
SPREADING THE WORD IS IMMENSELY HELPFUL!
Even if you can't support Renegades financially, there's still other ways to assist us in completing our goals, such as telling your friends and family about the project and posting the link to the Campaign on your social media feeds. Every bit helps and you, the fans, are the only ones that can help bring these amazing stories to life. We cannot over emphasize the magnitude of our passion for Star Trek and our continued mission to keep Gene's vision of the future alive. With your support, we can accomplish that objective.
With additional funding we will be able to increase our production quality on all fronts and all departments.
Any production takes a great deal of time, money and talented artisans to bring it to the screen, and this is even more true in the case of Science-Fiction, where Sets, Green Screen shots and CGI effects are extremely important to building an imaginary world where amazing aliens from strange new worlds and adventuring characters will grow and face their ultimate challenges.
Our ultimate goal is produce and release a broadcast quality episodes at 10% of the budget of the major broadcast networks. This was proved with low production cost of the pilot.
Below is a basic list of costs we will incur while making the episode:
1. Pre-Production - Getting the script written, the sets designed and built, the budgets finalized, securing the permits, the rental of the studio space, the costumes designed and fabricated as well as the props, such as tricorders, phasers, computer screens, etc.
2. Production - Paying the Cast and Crew, the cost of the Lights, Cameras, Grip equipment, Monitors, Food/Meals, Make Up/Prosthetics and Sound Equipment, etc.
3. Post Production - Paying the Editing Team as well as the cost of the CGI Effects, Color Correction, Sound Mixing, and Musical Score. (For this Campaign, the CGI Effects will be marked as a Stretch Goal)
One of our Stretch Goals is the creation of a new Icarus Bridge. The vision for Renegades has grown so much since its inception that we would like to build a bridge that's a bit more grand in scale and exudes uniqueness. We love this new design and we hope you do too.
WILL DONORS GET BEHIND THE SCENES UPDATES?
During both Pre-production and production we'll be bringing the Donors updates on our progress as well as behind the scenes pictures so you can experience this amazing process first-hand from start to finish. You'll become acquainted with the talented members of the Renegades team and see the cast do what they do best. Star Trek like you've never seen it before.
Grab a front-row seat and enjoy the ride made exclusively for our Donors.
We have created an amazing team that will increase our production value and quicken the timeframe of the production. If we are successful, we hope to complete Episode 2 by the Summer of 2016 with Episode 3 going into production shortly thereafter if Stretch Goals are met.
The Renegades pilot was shot like a feature film with close to 700 effects shot. This final episode will have fewer effects shots as well as less shooting pages.
Upon funding we will immediately go into pre-production on Episode 1.2 in the last quarter of 2015. Production of Renegades Episode 1.2 will subsequently begin 2016.
**If these stretch goals are not initially met, we will supplement the post costs with an additional crowd funding campaign early next year.
