Here is the version of the video with narrative in English:
Anatoly Yakobson was a teacher, a poet, a translator, and a human rights activist in the nineteen sixties – a time long past, but yet still so close. The story of his life is captivating. I have heard the name of Yakobson. But I knew nothing about him, absolutely nothing. I happened to come to a book presentation for In Memoriam of Anatoly Yakobson. Everything that they said about him there was exciting, joyful, pure in tone. No exaggerations, no lies. What a guy! What a path in life! Not always right, but always passionate, always open and full of friendship. So many things came together, coincided to form the pattern of his fate. I wanted to share this with people. And suddenly, after a year, it struck me – there has to be a documentary. There must be.We are raising funds to complete the documentary about Anatoly.
We have shot over half of our movie. Now we have to finish it and edit it together.
Risks and challenges
Challenge 1. A long documentary could be boring.
Not with our director! Sergey Linkov is award winning director who made already a few distinguished movies in USA, and many more in Russia. Members of our team produce and stage a few successful shows every year and we know how not to be boring in the eyes of spectators. We have knowledgeable and competent advisers in movie business - www.wmg.org.
Challenge 2. We have been working on this movie for more than 2 years; a team's spark can go away. Unexpected obstacles can derail the project.
Some of our team members work together for 20 years and the spark is still here! :) We have vast experience producing art projects. Our director and the team have proven record to overcome unexpected obstacles. We are dedicated to the cause and are motivated to create this documentary.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
