"Needles in the Hay" is a documentary that not only showcases the stories of lives deeply effected by the opioid and heroin epidemic, but more importantly it hopes to explore ways to help the thousands out there still suffering. As this epidemic continues to spread and grow here in America, we want to help fight and resolve this crisis in anyway we can. One life at a time.
We can start trying to save lives right now. Your support will allow us to expand the films reach and make a much larger impact.
WHAT WE PLAN TO ACCOMPLISH
- HELP THOSE STILL STRUGGLING. What is the solution? What can we do to help active users? First step in finding out what someone needs is to ask. In this film active users share their take of this crisis and how its effecting their lives. We want more people struggling out there to be heard. It’s not always easy getting into facilities or rehabs centers. IF YOU HAVE A LOVED ONE OUT THERE STILL ACTIVELY USING AND THEY ARE NOW READY AND WILLING TO GET CLEAN I WILL FLY ANYWHERE IN THE NATION TO CAPTURE THEIR STORY, AND FROM THERE WE WILL OFFER HELP IN THEIR ROAD TO RECOVERY.
BRING AWARENESS. We have lost so many of our loved ones to this epidemic. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimated in 2017 that 91 Americans die from an opioid overdose each day. It is with this urgency that we give those gone a voice through the ones that loved them. You will hear powerful stories from husbands, wives, sons, daughters, mothers, fathers, and even children left behind. We will interview many more families and allow many more to tell their stories. Bringing awareness is key to helping stop the spread of this crisis throught our already overwhelmed community/ LETS BRING A VOICE TO THOSE STILL FIGHTING FOR THEIR LIVES AND TO THOSE WE HAVE LOST.
This short video has already made a profound impact for some of the users who were brave enough to be interviewed on camera while in their addiction stage.
You just saw Misty in the video who now has 6 months clean and is preparing to get out of rehab. She's scared and unsure what to do next. She has no job and no place to live when she gets out. I showed this to a man who helps people in recovery. I told him about her current situation. He was so moved by her in the video he said he’d get her a place to live and a job when she got out. This is powerful!!!! I believe the more money we can raise the bigger impact we can have and more people we can try and help.
ALSO: I’ve received calls from other active users present in this film weeks after their interview saying thank you for filming their story. They said letting them speak on camera was an important moment for them, and now they want to speak out about being in recovery and living a clean life. This is the type of impact and change that IS possible and is something we hope to show on a much larger scale with a full feature film.
INSPIRATION. That leads us into the recovery stage. While many addicts may have found their way out and become clean, their road to recovery was a long and difficult process. Being a recovering addict myself, I believe there is nothing more powerful then two addicts sharing their stories with each other. There is no judgment, there is no shame, there is only understanding, empathy, and hope. This is why having recovering addicts speak out in this film is such an essential part of connecting with active users still out there. WE WILL INSPIRE!
MAKE A POLITICAL CHANGE. It will take years to undo the damage but an important first step we must take is to hold the parties responsible for this epidemic legally liable for the destruction they have unleashed upon our citizens.” This statement made by Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall alleged in a lawsuit filed in a federal court that Purdue Pharma LP, maker of OxyContin, misrepresented the risks and benefits of opioids, enabling the widespread prescribing of the drugs for chronic pain conditions, while generating billions of dollars in sales. The number of lawsuits by states, counties and cities has dramatically grown over recent years accusing pharmaceutical companies of pushing addictive painkillers only to allow this epidemic to continue. We WILL investigate these areas in our documentary, showcasing what we can do to make a difference to stop these large drugmaker companies.
There is no doubt that the political debates will be heated, the personal stories and struggles will be tough, but from the darkness we will do our very best to bring some light.

Risks & Challenges:
As with any documentary, there are risks and challenges that may arise over the course of the production of this film. Two of our biggest challenges will be finalizing the documentary in the foreseen timeline as well as reaching our financial target. Given the investigative nature of the documentary, we are cognizant that during the making of this film we may come across new facts and information that will warrant additional research. For this reason, a challenge will be to try and complete the documentary in the scheduled timeline, while allowing flexibility to improve it through further research or new interviewees. Newly found information can also influence the financing of the film, as further costly archive footage may need to be purchased or new shooting locations may need to be visited. We firmly believe that these challenges will be overcome and we will not make any compromises with regard to the quality of this documentary. The timeline we have set for the delivery of rewards is a rough estimate and we will do all we can to give them to you at the indicated time. Delivery of some of the rewards, however, could directly be affected by delays we may encounter while making the documentary. Please rest assured that we will of course make sure that the rewards are delivered and that our team will do its upmost to send them to you as soon as possible.
Don’t let this epidemic continue. Help us touch lives, raise awareness, and make a difference in our country!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND GENEROSITY TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE CHANGE AND YOU WILL WITNESS THIS THOUGHT OUT THE FILM!

This is a very ambitious project which I'm planning to drop everything I'm doing and make it happen, we are hoping to reveal information and personal stories to make a change. Without a doubt there are certain people who may want to obstruct our work given the contents of the film.
