This is an educational board game for Formula One allowing people to learn about the sport in a way that has never been done before.
My project is an educational board game I created for Formula 1 and it is all about teaching people about the sport in a way that has not been done before. Whether people are already fans or they want to learn, this is the board game they will need to get a good understanding of all the different aspects of Formula 1.
This game includes dice, cards, over 900 questions about different aspects of the sport, there are easy and harder questions. This is all part of the learning process. At this present moment in time it is all about getting things right at this point and there are steps to getting this game into the fans and this is why I am here to raise funds and awareness.
To give you a framework to modify and build on I suggest you consider the following stages:
1 £900 Research patents and other sources for prior art
2 £2000 Commitment fee payable to Inventions UK
3 £2000 Engage designer to create a board and game plan based on your information.
4 £500 Consider possible names and trade marks
5 £2000 Consider value of a patent application
6 £600 Draft and file a UK Design Registration
7 £1400 Draft and file a UK Trade Mark
8 £6000 Consider cost and value of a professional prototype
This will help enable my project not only to be completed but from this point onwards, all marketing and promotions will be done by Inventions UK who will not only find the manufacturing company to mass produce this product but will handle all the legal paper work on my behalf. My job at this point is to get funding and once that is in place, Inventions UK takes care of getting this product onto the market.
The duration to make this game is 3 to 6 months. which will include all the testing and mass production before it is put in shops. This also includes obtaining the license from Formula One Management in order for this product to become officially by F1. Talks have been held already with Formula One Management however now it is all about getting this product finished. The other concept is to also develop this to an app for smartphones and also as an online game allowing fans to experience this game on three different platforms.
Risks and challenges
Board game are not new on the market however they have been around for a long time. My concept is completely revolutionary and this will allow people to be educated about F1. I have managed to network and write enough letters to companies to now know how to get my product on the market and that is through the help of an agent and a good lawyer which I already have. In order to get the ball rolling I need all the funding in place and the plan for spending the fund has already been put in place. The people I am working with have years of experience in terms of helping inventors like myself launch their products on the market. I did try to go straight to the Toy manufacturers myself but quickly realised that the process requires an agent who has easier access to companies I need to work with to take on my project. I did create my prototype and also had a company in Bristol that came up with sketches to make my idea even better. Based on what I know and what I now have there is a lot more potential than before. The next urgent steps for me include getting my prototype redesigned with the next two months and also thoroughly tested for people to enjoy the experience of playing with this board game before it is launched. Set backs can come in many ways and I have already experienced some and now I know that there are certain ways for example to raise money quicker such as this platform and also making sure that I am working with the right people.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
