The shy and introvert roadie, Mats (28), is traveling with a Swedish afro-beat band on a tour bus from Lapland to Copenhagen. During the band’s vivacious concert in Copenhagen, Mats is enthralled by B (26) - a confident beauty of african descent. B makes Mats see the world in a new perspective and both individuals experience an overwhelming human connection. However, Mats is put to the ultimate test, as B reveals that she is in fact a man. He can either follow his desire or listen to the norms of society and give in to the controlling fear taking over his body...

I want to tell a story, which shows that in the end we all look for the same things in life: to be heard and seen as we are. To feel connected, to have the courage to reach further in our lives, since most of the time only fear of the unknown is blocking us. And when we are aware of that, there’s a possibility to change our actions.
I am so exited about this film being made and can't wait for it to be shown on the danish film festival Copenhagen Pix this upcoming spring. Therefore we want to create something unique that we can be really proud of. With your help, there is no doubt in my mind that we will pull off something amazing, thrilling and different... The whole atmosphere around the crew is fantastic and we are very exited to show you our film. Hopefully you will give us the benefit of the doubt and donate what you feel is appropriate.

The music in the film: The Sogo Takeover
Stumble upon a horn-dominant, ten-plus-piece band and you’ve landed in the world of The Sogo Takeover. This Afrobeat orchestra is based in Los Angeles and is a vital and dominating part of this films expression. The beats of The Sogo Takeover is the heart of film – it's rhythmic pulse, so to speak.
Risks and challenges
Apart from the money that is allocated for production through our school - Super16 - this crowd funding campaign is our main source of funding. Once and if we meet our goal, we can decide how the funds shall be distributed. Ultimately, we want to shoot this highly visual short film on a 16mm camera but in case we don't raise any additional funding elsewhere, we might have to compromise and spend the Kickstarter money on a digital setup as an alternative. This might also inflict on our choices of locations, making our dream scenario of shooting in the Swedish Lapland impossible. No matter what, the film will be made. We already have a set premiere date at the Copenhagen Pix Film Festival, april 2014. The only thing that would be compromised in case we have any unforeseen set-backs would be the scale of our production.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
