Late Pledge, Cards and Testing

Hello, Folks!

We don’t have a whole lot of news to report, but I wanted to make an appearance and talk about what we’ve been doing since the end of the campaign.

Late Pledge

You may have noticed we added a Late Pledge button to the Kickstarter page. If you know of anyone who missed the campaign, they can pledge for Wild Assent on Crowd Ox here: https://app.crowdox.com/projects/1449412950/wild-assent-survive-the-arena-and-tame-the-wilds. To be clear, only the Feathered Serpent is unavailable to Late Backers; all items labeled “Kickstarter Exclusive” are still available in their respective buckets (Vareclea and the Twin Dragon can be obtained by selecting the Champion pledge, etc).

Cards

If you watched me on the live streams or elsewhere, you might recall me mentioning that we wanted to do some fixing to card sizes after seeing them in person with the prototype. The Arena mode’s Skill cards were especially thin and tiny, which simply isn’t what we want to end up with. The Assent Equipment cards also felt pretty small, but the issue with fixing them or the Skill cards is that it would require the Assent punch board size be increased (which made them massive). So, our current (but by no means final) plan is to try to have all five Skills for the Arena mode be on the Assent punch boards like they are for the Seekers and have the Equipment cards be separate standard-sized cards. We have some other card-related changes in the works, but let’s leave it at that for now.

Tester Facebook Group

We’re going to start with a closed Facebook group for testing/balancing. If you’re interested in testing Wild Assent and providing feedback on the new content as it is (digitally) released, please send us a PM via Kickstarter. I can’t guarantee everyone will get in initially, but we’ll certainly add more folks as time goes on.

Other Things

We should get the money from Kickstarter this week, which will get the ball rolling on a lot of fronts, especially sculpts. I don’t want to commit to a rigid update schedule (weekly may be too fast and monthly will likely always be too slow), but we will keep you informed about how the game is progressing regularly. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to us via comments, PMs, etc. We’re still behind after the rush of messages at the end of the campaign, but we should be caught up soon.

      @Nicolas & Ziemek

      We haven't made the final determination yet. We're waiting to here back from folks with quotes based on our updated (post campaign) printed components list.

      @Rodney A

      You'll get to see the game as it develops, but we won't show unfinished work (like, say, the sculpts before our corrections are made), so there may not be something to say at regular intervals.

      Yes!

      Has the pledge manager gone out? Sorry if I missed it, I've backed multiple items this month and they are all starting to merge together in my head.

      Are us $1 backers still able to upgrade and get the KS Exclusive items?

      Regarding updates, I think weekly/bi-weekly as a development log/diary (nothing funky needed) would be great, as it cool to see the project develop into a product with a formal project update once a month. Have to say this game still looks great and hope I can upgrade to include the expansion in the PM. :o)

      Small cards, depending on function, I can live with. Mansions of Madness makes use of some pretty small cards for equipment. Thin though... Nobody wants thin cards! I'm really happy to hear you're sorting that.
