We need your help to produce a community wide photo exhibit which will be a highlight of the closing celebration for the Mandell JCC
Hartford Jewish Film Festival. Closing night, Monday April 15, 2013, will include a screening of
Hava Nagila: The Movie; a documentary about the quintessential Jewish tune
played at all sorts of Jewish celebrations, particularly Bar/Bat Mitzvahs and
weddings. Following the film we will host a Hava Dance Party. Decorating the walls, and on giant screens at the Mandell JCC, will be photos of past Jewish
celebrations, including yours! Everyone who pledges at least $18 will have the opportunity
to submit a favorite hora photograph to be displayed at the party and throughout the ten
days of the Hartford Jewish Film Festival (see the pledges and rewards for more details).
Our funding goal of $1,000 will directly support the Hava Nagila family photo exhibit. Twenty-one films from eight
countries will be shown at theaters in Hartford, West Hartford, and Bloomfield.
Visit our website, http://hjff.org,
for more information. Presenting Connecticut's largest Jewish festival of movies,
food, exhibits, music, dance, receptions, directors and authors requires an enormous
supporting cast of donors, funders, volunteers and committee members.
We are indebted to you for your support!
Risks and challenges
"If we are unable to reach our funding goal, the quality and style of the exhibit will change drastically. We will be limited to only displaying the photos electronically, and only on April 15th. The materials used to mount the exhibit will also depend on funding received.
We are working with producers of the film on delivery dates for the Hava Nagila DVD but the time line for completion and availability is beyond our control."
